This beautifully maintained reserve provides a perfect blend of nature, wildlife, and recreation, making it an ideal spot for families, nature enthusiasts, and anyone looking to unwind.

From the moment we entered, we were greeted by the serene beauty of well-kept gardens, lush greenery, and scenic walking paths. The layout of the reserve is thoughtful, with clear signage and plenty of seating areas to rest and take in the surroundings. The park is immaculately clean, reflecting the care and dedication of the maintenance staff.

One of the standout features of Central Gardens is the variety of wildlife that can be observed. The aviary is a delightful experience, showcasing a diverse range of bird species in a naturalistic setting. The kangaroo and emu enclosures provide a unique opportunity to get up close with these iconic Australian animals. It’s a fantastic educational experience, especially for children.

The reserve also boasts a beautiful pond with ducks and other waterfowl, adding to the peaceful atmosphere. The boardwalk around the pond is perfect for a leisurely stroll, and the picnic areas nearby make it easy to enjoy a relaxing meal surrounded by nature.

For those with children, the playground is well-equipped and safe, offering a range of activities to keep the little ones entertained. There’s also ample open space for kids to run around and explore.

Central Gardens Nature Reserve is also equipped with excellent amenities, including clean restrooms, BBQ facilities, and plenty of shaded areas. The reserve is accessible, with well-maintained paths suitable for prams and wheelchairs.

Overall, Central Gardens Nature Reserve is a delightful spot for a day out. Whether you're looking to connect with nature, have a family picnic, or simply enjoy a peaceful walk, this reserve has something for everyone. "A Perfect Blend of Nature and Wildlife!" I had an incredible time visiting Central Gardens Nature Reserve! This place truly offers something for everyone, with its stunning natural beauty and variety of wildlife. The park is well-maintained, with peaceful walking trails that wind through lush greenery, making it the perfect spot to escape into nature. One of the highlights of my visit was the free mini zoo, which is a fantastic addition to the reserve. I was thrilled to see kangaroos, emus, and wallabies up close! The animals seemed well cared for, and it was a joy to watch them in their natural-like habitat. It’s such a unique experience, especially for families or animal lovers. The reserve itself is beautiful, with plenty of open spaces for picnics, nature walks, and even birdwatching. The peaceful atmosphere made it the perfect place to unwind and enjoy a day in nature. I highly recommend Central Gardens Nature Reserve for anyone looking for a relaxing yet engaging outdoor experience. A wonderful place to visit, and best of all, it’s free! Free garden with free parking.

Huge area comprised of a lake, waterfall, wildlife enclosure, function center, playground and open area. Parts of it are a little bit run down such as the deck near the waterfall, some of the signage and the function room, but that can be easily overlooked as the grounds are well-maintained and there are plenty of wildlife to see. There are lots of different birds to see at practically any part of the park. Free entry. Majority of the park is pram and wheelchair friendly, however there are some stairs to get to the waterfall viewing deck. Parking is adjacent to the reserve and is easily accessible. The animal enclosure includes Owls, possums, ducks, geese, kangaroos, wallabies, swans, cockatoos, emus and a possum; however the enclosure does feel somewhat small for the size and amount of animals per enclosure. The waterfall gets turned on at 11 AM. It is beautiful ,however if you want to see wildlife I would recommend going to Auburn botanic gardens and if want to see a large lake I would recommend going to Bicentennial Park at Homebush as they’re presented nicer.
