It's been a long time since I have been here and boy has it changed. I think it's twice the size of what it use to be. There are a couple of outdoor areas one with two pool tables. There are a lot of tables and chairs, high tables with stools. A good TAB area. Plenty of TV's on the walls so I'm sure you'll find one with your sport on it. I saw a staircase and a lift so something must go on upstairs. I saw a couple of posters advertising bands, so maybe it's a live music venue. The Bistro has pub favourites, pizza, pasta and risotto and steak. It has a tradie special that comes with a beer/drink, half price seniors lunch and the food is better than most pubs around the area. There is a bottle shop on the end of the building, Plenty of parking. I will go back.

The food here was a lot better than we originally thought, I was a little surprised to be honest. We ordered the lamb souvlaki, vegetarian pizza and of course chicken schnitzel! Firstly the lamb was cooked to perfection with a pretty decent serving, it was well seasoned and tender. The pizza was really delicious the only thing I would say is the crust could’ve been a bit more crunchy! The schnitzel was nice and crunchy and the sauces were too, the vegetables were seasoned with garlic and butter. Pretty decent pub grub, give this place a go.

Four of us had lunch together, everyone had burgers except myself.

I had:

MIXED MEAT PLATTER $44 w/ sirloin steak, chicken breast, beef short rib, lamb souvlaki, pork belly & rasher bacon w/ chips & salad

I asked for mushroom sauce and for my steak to be bleu.

Steak was perfect and moist and tender. Souvlaki was tender and pink, seasoned perfectly. Chicken breast ok, but seasoned well. Short Rib Beef was falling off the bone. Pork belly was tasty, tender and crispy crackling. Bacon was perfect.

Chips and Salad was was plentiful and filling.

Very impressed with the moist, tasty mixed meat as I have not seen a platter retain taste, moisture for the entirety of the meal.

The entrees were:

RICOTTA, MUSHROOM & PROSCIUTTO BRUSCHETTA $12 toasted sourdough smeared w/ garlic oil topped w/ fresh ricotta cheese, parsley, mushrooms & prosciutto

TOMATO, FETA & BASIL BRUSCHETTA (V) $10 drizzled w/ extra virgin olive oil & balsamic glaze

Of special note in the entrees:

TEMPURA BATTERED MIXED VEGETABLES (V) $14 w/ a carrot purée & Manchurian sauce

A pleasant surprise with the amount and quality of the tempura. Not oily, not overcooked and not over seasoned.

Kudos to the wait staff who suggested lemon and salt with the Tempura. ( It does go well with the Tempura!)

Lunch was about 1:40pm so it was quiet but good service and atmosphere.

Visited this pub for the first time yesterday and was super impressed! $5 brekkie meals are awesome value for your buck. Perfect if you are wanting to pay for a large group of guests on a budget but still fill their bellies up. Modern venue, very clean and easy to get to. Lots of car park and dining space. Staff are absolutely excellent! I even got served by a singing bartender 😊 being Christmas season my kids were happy to be entertained by an Elf with balloon making, games & face painting.
