Picture this: the sun rises, painting the sky in fiery hues as you arrive at the perfect spot to kickstart a family adventure. This place isn’t just "nice"—it's practically the ultimate playground for picnics, fishing, and soaking up nature's splendor. But here’s the kicker: parking. It’s a bit like a high-stakes game—arrive early or risk losing to the parking vultures. At $40 for the whole day (time of visit), it's worth it if you nail that coveted parking space. The grounds? Immaculate. You could practically eat off the grass—although, why would you when there’s a charming coffee shop just around the corner? The kids? Their laughter echoes through the park, proving this spot is a win for families. And your furry, four-legged pals? Tail-wagging approval all around—it’s a dog-friendly paradise. Whether you’re looking for quality time, peace of mind, or just an excuse to soak up the vibes, this gem of a park is absolutely worth the trip. Go early, park smart, and prepare for some wholesome family...
Read moreNice secluded and isolated beach. Peaceful place to relax under a tree, walk the wharf/park with your dog. They have a nice playground area for the children, BBQ spot with tables and chairs in/out of the sun where dogs aren't allowed near by according to the posted signs. There's a basketball court yard near the public toilets and plenty of space for boot camps or outdoor activities on the green grass areas. Restricted times for dogs to walk/swim on the beach but plenty of park area for them to do a little adventure. Saw a lot of turkeys walking the park also. The only reason why i rated 4 star is due to the fact dogs are only allowed on the beach 1st couple of hrs of opening and the last few hours of closure. The swimming netted spot looks nice but if it gets busy, seems the dirt from the ground will rise. Would rather swim on the opposite un-netted side as the water looks cleaner - but play it safe and swim in...
Read moreNice park from what I am aware of.
But, there is NO WHEELCHAIR ACCESS TO CLIFTON GARDENS.
There is a way to get down from the car park to Clifton Gardens via the incline lift. But the general public, including wheelchairs can’t use it. My sister who has autism, and needs to use a wheelchair for long distance trips after a surgery. Was discriminated from using the wheelchair and ruined the whole day that I planned with!
I never got the chance to, but from what I am aware of as well, you can’t get to the park and the liberty swing because there is sand in the middle of the way. Why can’t you put a path over the sand?!
We now know that I can’t take my sister to a lovely place like Clifton Gardens, and that is EXTREMELY disappointing! And that will stay the same for a long time until the staff get their heads together to allow the public to USE THE LIFT. And that wheelchairs can GET TO THE PARK WITHOUT GOING...
