This is I believe that this is the most stunning parth of the great north walk even it is the beginning of the whole trail. Trail extends both in the wild and in the commune places. I walked the trail twice and started to walk at buffalo creek and completed at Thornleigh Oval. It takes 6-7 hours to walk whole trail which is 21,8 km. Every part of the trail is full with amazing structures of the Australia's unique land formations and wild. You better to check if there are any closed parts due to flooding threats and controlled bush burnings. Rain coat, water (at least2 liters) some food, flash light in case you miss the day time, warm clothes, body warmer pad and aliminium blanket in case you need to protect your body from hypotermy, walking poles is recommended. Last but not the least, Personal Locater device or system is adviced (PLS) and also GPS watch or device is adviced. Do not depend on your smart phone since some part of the trail is not covered by mobile systems. Please use the app of NSW wildlife park service. It give every detail of the taril as well as the heads ups. Enjoy the wild but be serious do not make fun with...
