Located at 1 Dame Mary Gilmore Road, Oatley, New South Wales, Australia 🇦🇺 Oatley Park is a wonderful place to bring the family, especially the kids. The playground is fantastic. The main tower is great but can be a workout, even for an adult. The slide is good but can be fast. There’s a flying fox and it’s quite popular, it has a harnessed chair for younger children. There’s also BBQ and seating facilities for people wishing to have a picnic or just have a seat and relax and good toilet 🚻 facilities. The steamroller is always popular and a great touch to the playground. There’s various walking tracks around the park and they vary in difficulty depending on your capabilities, from easy going to more difficult. You can use these paths for cycling 🚴🏾, hiking, walking your dog 🐕 (on leash), or just a casual stroll. It’s very popular on the weekends. The Oatley castle is always a great spot to visit, it has amazing views from the top platform. It was built during the Great Depression . I remember coming there as a child and enjoying it. Also worth going down to water. There’s a great fishing spot on the wharf snd the Oatley Baths are a wonderful spot for swimming. Oatley Park is open from approximately 6.30am and the gates close at dusk year round. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Oatley Park. You can really make a day of visiting here. It’s so family friendly. A definite Thumbs up...
Read moreI have been visiting this park since I was a baby and now that Im a parent myself I am equally enjoying watching them enjoy the park. The transformation that took place in 2019 has been phenomenal. The steam roller from the 80s is still in place and you can still climb it under supervision. The incredible climbing tower allows kids of all ages to climb and weave their way through until they are stories high and reach the mammoth slide. This is not for the faint hearted though and we have witnessed a lot of scared faces at the top requiring a rescue, however if fear is left at the door then this will allow for hours of fun! The playground also offers a flying fox complete with a harnessed chair for smaller thrill seekers and BBQs and covered picnic tables. Its a great sport for a party. The surrounding landscape of the park is so tranquil and allows for many uses of the park including bushwalking, cycling and jogging. The park is full of history and is worth having a read up on that. The baths are a welcomed feature during the hotter months and the park attracts alot of wildlife and birdlife.Highly recommend this parkland and playground and suggest to make a day of it.
