Opened 15th Oct 2022 by Mayor Clover Moore. It’s a welcome green area in the heart of Green Square with toilets and BBQ area with seating. Main green area is on a gentle slope popular with dogs and children. The grassy areas according to the signs are only for dogs on a leash but the enclosed “drying green” seems to be a defacto off leash dog area so beware when choosing your picnic spot. The BBQ area seems to be the only shaded area - bring your sun protection if visiting in the middle of the day. Look out for some ducks that seem to have made the artificial water sections (with micro waterfalls) with reeds their home at the time of this review.

The park itself is amazing, but during this month I could see more and more algae taking all the space, and a lot rubbish in the water that no one seems to clean them out. I wonder whether there is a actual schedule for the cleaning, and who shall we speak to in order to solve issues like this?

New, nice modern park, very open. Modern facilities, nice BBQ area, this is really a “locals” park, as there is next to no parking available if you are traveling there.

I like the architectural design of the Drying Green. I know some people mock it, but I think they're just jealous. The novelty of the angular shapes is refreshing, especially after countless round or oval parks in Australia. The flow of people working to and from Green Square station is also interesting and novel. The sun bathing area on the Drying Green is also nice. And the buildings surrounding the Drying Green are beautiful - especially The Frederick, which was designed by William Smart, who if you know has...

This park is amazing and has BBQ's and a large shaded pergola with curated lawns, which is a great place for families and friends. There are also multiple mini waterfalls which is lined with palm trees and reeds growing from the man made creek ending at small water fountains to keep the water flowing. The biggest part of this park is the raised lawn area giving ample area to go for a picnic or just relax with friends with view of the Green Square Library...
