THE SPACE gallery & art class — Attraction in Sydney

So much fun! My daughter and I wandered into the gallery and had a great chat with the very engaging and wonderful Pascale who told us about a class the next day using alcohol based paints. Upon arrival Pascale showed us some basic principles and helped us get more comfortable with the unique medium and then gently guided us to create our own masterpiece with just the right level of involvement. Three hours zipped by and we could have easily stayed for another three. As someone who appreciates art but is not artsy I really enjoyed the almost organic process and have proudly displayed two of my paintings in my house. They make me smile every time I see them and the experience has prompted me to explore other opportunities to create. I had booked for the “ Introduction to water colour class “ with Pascale and had wanted to do a portrait with a scenery background as a gift for my girlfriend. Since it was my first exposure to any form of formal watercolour training, I was keen for Pascale to guide me through it. She very kindly agreed to do the picture which I suggested for the class. The class was well structured and interesting. Pascale focussed on the basics and the foundation of water colours. I hardly realised the 5 hours fly by. At the end of the class , I was able to apply the principles that she taught during the class and do my portrait. You and your teaching style make my and my mum’s Saturdays such a hoot. From our first half day course you made us fall so in love with watercolour - and now onto our second 5-week course, the progress we have seen over time (from not even knowing how to hold a brush to the beautiful artworks we now create) it’s amazing what is possible in such a short time.
