Mon Thai Eatery — Restaurant in Sydney

It's better if you come to the restaurant and place your order by pointing at the menu. Do not make a phone order as they might get your order wrong. After saying my order on the phone and I wanted to order Khao Mhu Dang. And she couldn't hear me properly. And I said again Khao Mhu Dang. And she said Khao Mhu Yang, and I said is that the one with BBQ pork, boiled egg and sausage. And she said yes. And I got home, opened my order and it didn't come with boiled egg and sausage. Called the restaurant, she said I ordered Khao Mhu Yang and its only BBQ Pork. And I kept telling her, I asked you if that's the one it comes with boiled egg and sausage, she said I never said that. And kept telling me I ordered Khao Mhu Yang, even though the fact I confirmed my order would come with boiled egg and sausage. Worst service and phone manner I ever experienced. They just don't care and always think they are right even though...

Funny experience at this restaurant: Been there a few times. This time been served with a completely wrong dish I mentioned it to the staff and they acknowledged the mistake. I simply & happily accepted the dish as I did not want to make them a hassle. Then they asked me if i wanted a bowl of rice, as the wrong dish was a stir fry without any staples. I accepted the offer. Ended up being chargered for the rice. I, still, happily paid my bill.

But aftertaste was a bit bizarre

Just thought it was funny, as I thought a simple bowl of rice just showing a nice gesture/gratitude of me forgiving their mistakes.

Not complaining, but just funny, or it is just my problem...

Very delicious food! We went at lunch time and they have a large selections of lunch specials for only $12!

We ordered the Kra-pow, a stir fried mince with chili, garlic and Thai basil served with rice and fried egg. You can choose from chicken, pork or beef. I chose chicken while my partner chose pork and we both agreed that the dish was better with chicken.

Overall, flavour was very fragrant and flavoursome and the egg was divine. It was perfectly cooked! Crispy on the outside but still with a runny yolk. I would definitely add an egg next time if I can! Highly recommend this place and we would definitely come again to try their...
