Saigon Summer Zetland — Restaurant in Sydney

One of the rare Vietnamese restaurant/franchise that successfully creates an open and friendly customer service, especially the lady named Thu there who was very conscientious and open to our feedback. The space is quite small but very clean and tidy. I ordered Banh Mi and as someone who ate a lot of Banh Mi and very strick on it, I can say it was good enough to come back. The bread was baked just right, not too hard, not too soft, just right to create a crunchy texture but not hurt your mouth. The only thing that took away 1 star for the food was that the Banh Mi lacked spring onions, and too little coriander - two core flavors of Vietnamese Banh Mi. Though they said they want to modify their recipe to serve more international customers. I don't really agree with that point of view, as they can keep the original flavor as a default and just ask each customer whether they want spring onions/coriander leaves. The bread, the spring onion, and the coriander are the keys that make Banh Mi unique, in my opinion. Anyway, I'm glad to finally see a company successfully franchises Vietnamese...

I came here when they were getting ready to close. I had been doing uber eats deliveries for nearly 12 hours and hadn't eaten all day. I was walking to pick up my final delivery of the night and smelt something really nice. It was coming from Saigon summer. Though the windows were empty. It was 7:50. They closed in 10 minutes. I asked if they had any rice paper rolls left, hoping there were some out back. There were two people making fresh dumplings at the time. One of them, an older man, said yes we do which did I want. I ordered 2 pork and 1 chicken. The man got out fresh ingredients and began making the rice paper and cooking the meats on the spot. Despite them closing in 10 minutes, despite things already being put away. He got up and started cooking. If I knew he was going to I never would have asked but I nearly cried at the gesture because I was so hungry and so tired. This simple action of kindness is something I'll never forget. To top it all off the summer rolls were the most incredible things. Absolutely delicious.

I recently ordered catering from Saigon Summer Zetland for a private company function, and they exceeded all of my expectations. The service was incredibly friendly and attentive, making the whole process smooth and hassle-free. The rice paper rolls were a standout: fresh, healthy, and absolutely delicious! Especially the beef in betel leaf rice paper rolls, just mouth watering and healthy at the same time! The pho was phenomenal!
