The Tamborine Mountain Regional Botanical Gardens, located in Queensland, Australia, is a beautiful, lush garden set in the heart of the Gold Coast hinterland. It offers a rich diversity of plant species, scenic views, and tranquil walking trails. The gardens span 11 hectares and are managed by a dedicated group of volunteers, the Tamborine Mountain Garden Club. This botanical garden features a range of themed areas, including:

Japanese Garden – A serene space with traditional Japanese landscaping, a koi pond, and ornamental bridges.

Rainforest Walk – Showcasing native Australian rainforest plants, ideal for a peaceful stroll under the canopy.

Rose Garden – A charming spot filled with various rose varieties, providing a burst of color and fragrance.

Cactus and Succulent Garden – Home to diverse desert plants, thriving in their dedicated rocky terrain.

Cedar Creek and Lagoon – A water feature that enhances the natural beauty and supports local birdlife.

The garden is open year-round and is a fantastic destination for nature lovers, photographers, and families looking to enjoy a peaceful escape. It's also popular for birdwatching, as it hosts many native Australian bird species. Admission is free, though donations are welcomed to support the garden’s maintenance and...

BEAUTIFUL We decided to enjoy a picnic at the Mt Tambourine Botanical Gardens.

CROWDS Lunchtime was very busy with most undercover seating taken.

We went for a walk pass the Rainforest walk to find a river picnic table. I was glad to have bought my own picnic mat, which we used as a tablecloth.

GROUNDS Absolutely beautiful. You can see the volunteers are very hard workers and passionate about the gardens. THANK YOU

STEALING PLANTS Why world people be so disrespectful? A sign asked people to stop stealing plants.

MOBILE APP The Botanical Gardens have an awesome interactive app. Great tool that just adds to the excellent pathways, clear signs and whole experience. THANK YOU

ADMENITIES Clean toilets Various undercover shelters Lots of seating is available all over the park.

FEEDING BIRDLIFE We kindly reminded some kids that signs clearly asked NOT to feed the birds. They responded that their mum said they could. I stated she has told you the wrong thing. He ran off.

Parents - read the signs!

OVERALL An amazing day Fantastic experience Loads of new projects...

This place was so much more than I expected! It was absolutely fantastic, with so many little walks, all with interesting facts about the plants, trees, history, habitats and wildlife signposted along the way. The many trails have been well thought out and there are numerous quiet and private 'contemplative' spaces with a bench to sit and 'contemplate'. The gardens is run entirely by volunteers and they are clearly very dedicated, passionate, creative and skilled. The work they do is amazing and it delivers wonderful experiences for those who visit. There are several boxes around seeking a gold coin donation to help fund the work and supplies needed for the upkeep of the gardens and I urge anyone to make a donation, including paper dollars, to ensure this place that gives so much can...

The Gardens are a picture perfect little pocket of paradise! A great place to picnic with a lot of tables scattered throughout the gardens, a lot of places to sit back and relax and take in the surroundings, an awesome "Owl creek track" which is a children's adventure just waiting to happen! They can find suprises all along the way, including some interesting "creatures", a water wheel, lots of winding patgs and bumpy bridge, and of course the Owls cottage and his thong tube to make your own music! Or if yiu want something a little more relaxing, you can meander through the Japanese garden and sit at many "contemplation seats" then indulge your senses in the rose garden. So many diffetent paths and areas to explore!
