The circuit to Crater Falls and Crater Lake and is the other great walk at Cradle Mountain that most visitors will be easily able to manage. It’s a 3 hour circuit from Ronny Creek, though it best to cut the last section across open grassland short, and finish at Dove Lake and get the bus back from there. The track climbs steadily up to crater lake through grasslands, rainforest, past a lovely waterfall, and then peaks at the saddle above Dove and Crater Lakes. From here you can wind back down to Dove lake, or divert up to Marions. This diversion is steep and involves a bit of a rock scramble, but is well worth it if the weather is clear. If it’s clouded in , don’t bother. Beware, there are no facilities anywhere on this walk until the Dove Lake...

Not the most impressive waterfalls you will ever see, but as part of the greater Overland Track experience they do add a certain sense of inspiration. The setting they are in, a mossy rainforest glade is a change from the more open aspects of the rest of the walk and it can be quite humid and sweaty. Stop and look around there are some lovely little...

Beautiful shaded water falls on the Overland track not too far from Ronny creek carpark. It was a hot day and it was a very welcome surprise to find shaded cool spot to have a break and a snack. Spend a little minute here to enjoy the cool damp air on a hot day. Might be a different story on cold...

Beautiful walks up to Crater Lake and around Dove Lake. Crater Lake walk is moderate and total time it took me (I'm an in-shape runner but a slowish walker) was 1:58 for the 4.08 total miles hike, 1:39 for the actual 3.17 miles loop. Dove Lake walk is easy and took me 1:22 for the 3.6 miles loop.
