Lovely location. The three waterfall circuit walk can be challenging but it's worth it. Having said that the Lady Barron Falls was a bit of a letdown after seeing Russell and Horseshoe Falls first but that may have been because it was fairly dry at the time of my visit. The Tall Trees section was amazing, and although I have been in other parts of Australia and seen some extremely tall trees before, this would have to be my stand out favourite so far. It is simply astounding how wide the girth and height of these trees and it has to be seen to be believed.

Please note that this walk is NOT for people that have mobility challenges and according to the Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife Service it is "2-2.5 hrs circuit, 6km circuit Grade 3: Some bushwalking experience recommended. Tracks may have short steep hill sections, a rough surface and many steps". So please consider this advice before...

We had such a lovely experience at Mount Field Visitor Centre thanks to the incredibly kind and knowledgeable Rangers we met—one in the morning and another in the evening. Both were so warm and welcoming, and took the time to engage with our kids, who had a lot of questions (especially my son, who’s an animal enthusiast!).

The Rangers answered everything with such patience and genuine enthusiasm. One even recommended a book called Tasmania’s Mammals and told us where to find it in Hobart. We ended up buying it at Fullers—and my son has been reading it every day since!

We left feeling so much more connected to the Tasmanian wilderness and really grateful for the time and care the Rangers took with our family. Thank you for making our visit...

The parks staff member we spoke to was super helpful and lovely, and Mt Field itself is stunning. But our experience at the cafe took the edge of an otherwise great visit. The woman serving me was very rude. The cafe has for some inexplicable reason stuck to a pointless and out of date covid rule of refusing to allow you to use your own keep cup for a takeaway coffee (while happily handling cash). They also charge an outrageous surcharge for plant based milk of $1.00. Also, when I asked if they would fill my water bottle I got a flat "no" and only when I looked shocked did she offer the fact that there was a tap I could use outside. Honestly, if you don't like people or tourists, don't work in a cafe in a...

This place is an ABSOLUTE DISGRACE. I drove 4 hours to get here only to discover they charge you $45 to go for a walk in the park!!! DO NOT COME HERE!!!! Tasmanians are off their rocker - mouthing off about being a greener state but then charging such astronomical prices that no one can afford to even enjoy the parks!! I was told that ALL the parks in Taz are like this, which is such a disgrace because how can your average Aussie afford to see their own backyard when times are this tough! It’s cheaper to go to the movies than it is to go to a park in Tasmania - SHAME ON YOU, TAZ GOV, FOR YOUR SHAMELESS GREED. Never coming back here - turns out I can’t afford to look at trees or lakes.
