Thunder Point totally surprised me. I wasn't expecting much, just another scenic stop along the coast. But man, this place packs a punch. The walk itself was easy, a nice leg-stretcher with some ups and downs to keep it interesting. But the views! As soon as you round the corner and the ocean unfolds before you, it takes your breath away. The water was this incredible turquoise, crashing against the rugged coastline. There were even a couple of surfers bobbing around, waiting for the perfect wave.

I spent ages just standing at Pickering Point Lookout, soaking it all in. The wind whipped through my hair, and I could smell the salty spray. It felt incredibly calming, a world away from the city noise I was used to. The walk itself wasn't crowded, and there were plenty of spots to just pull over and enjoy the scenery. I even saw a few families with young kids exploring the rock pools at low tide.

The only downside was the last bit of the walk. The terrain got a little uneven, with some loose rocks underfoot. Not a major issue, but definitely something to keep in mind if you're not the most sure-footed. Overall, though, Thunder Point was a hidden gem. If you're ever in Warrnambool, definitely take the time to check it out. You won't regret the walk (or the...

The rugged coastline is a beautiful sight on a breezy sunny day. We took a relaxing walk from Merri Bridge, passing Middle Island along the way, and onwards to the start of Shelley Beach. Coupled with a few stops to admire the surroundings and taking photographs, it took us about a couple of hours for a return trip. There's a public loo at the start of Merri Bridge, just before the stretch of parked cars along the road. A couple of smaller car parks are located at Thunder Point and Pickering Point if you don't fancy...

Thunder Point is a sightseeing vantage point in Warnambool. It featured views of wonderfully jagged rock faces protruding the deep blue waters. The plant life is particularly lush in the area, bringing along with it lots of animal life, too. There are multiple romantic places to watch the seas, and if you're into a bit of bushwalking, some private unknown beaches around as well. A great place to stop by and have a look over the ocean if you are in the area!
