Ambled up here with a mate for a brunchy/lunch mid-week type of meal. Got seated outside, overlooking Lady Bay - weather was speccy, very light breeze and all-over sunshine, which certainly helped - and hooked into our tucker.
No foodie typing here, so I won't comment on the grub, other than to say it was beautiful (though Wifey says I say that about pretty much anything I'm fed, so take what I say about food with a grain of salt. In fact, I even say grains of salt are beautiful, just to give you an idea of how little faith you should really consider putting into my opinions of meals. All food is beautiful!). From what I could see everyone around us was enjoying what they had - service was spot on: didn't feel we were being rushed, the dudes and lasses who served our table knew their stuff, and were able to provide a decent enough description of what they were on about, to leave us confident that they knew what they were on about... if that makes sense.
Best aspect of the place, that I can say is its outlook - you are literally looking out over Lady Bay, so if you're into that sort of thing, then this place should be somewhere you pay a visit to. Sure, you may have to dig a wee bit deeper into the fob pocket to pull out some loose change to make up for what are slightly higher meal prices, but we're talking a buck here, a buck there in difference, truth be told.
The Pav' looks to be dog friendly, so if that's a turn off (and I cannot see why it would be, but who knows), then you've been told.
Also, if theres s__ty weather about (and let's be honest, the southwest coastline can throw up some pretty unfriendly weather from time to time), then you can guarantee the outdoor dining option at the Pav' is off the...
Read moreMy wife and i had a korean steak sandwich $21 there today. Hadnt eaten there for a while. Ate there several months ago and the fish we ordered was raw inside. Half baked apology but no discount when we paid. We thought we would give it another try as it could have improved since last time This time our korean steak sandwich was pretty average for the price and just lukewarm when we got it. My wife, who admittedly has a sensitive stomach was ill following eating the sandwich. The coffee, on the other hand, was excellent. If we ever go back to the pavilion, it will not be to eat, just for the coffee. The staff generally were very pleasant. The lady who bought the food out is obviously overworked and needs a holiday or should work less hours as she is sour. The lady on the register obviously fears asking anyone "hows your meal today?" Because she might get a negative response. The best way to improve your business is to get feedback from customers before they leave and post negative comments on...

The waiter in the light blue t-shirt and glasses was an interesting one. As I stood dutifully by their sign that read “wait to be seated” said waiter looked down his nose at me (like my old headmaster would do) and waived his hand aloft in the air to summon me to come to him (again reminiscent of my head master). Perhaps said waiter was an old headmaster who felt he was doing me a favour, but being summoned like this and his ensuing aloof manner doesn’t endear a positive customer experience on entry to the establishment; it also makes me think said waiter is in the wrong role, if not profession. Watching him throughout service I didn’t feel like I was treated any differently to others - no evidence of a welcoming smile or inquiry as to “how was your coffee/ food”. Luckily the views made up for the poor service. Two attempts by different waitress and the coffee order wasn’t...
