Over the past 18 months or so the two courses have gone downhill at an alarming rate due, in my opinion, to lack of effective and experienced management. The pro-shop used to be manned by personnel with a wealth of experience. Now you are lucky if there is anyone over 20yrs old, presumably cost cutting measures, and I would guess that 90% of them have never picked up a club and played golf. The pace of play is painfully slow, no matter what day of the week or time of day you play. There used to be a marshal who patrolled the course pushing play along. Nobody fulfills that role any more. The greens and fairways are suffering, the reason for which is not abundantly evident but I suggest that it is money driven. This venue is no longer about the two golf courses but about the 'destination' (bar/restaurant/weddings/conferences etc.) where the management can gouge as much money as possible. Golf takes a back seat as is evidenced by the attached photos showing the state of the course just one week ago. This situation is going to get worse unless something is urgently done about it. Failure to take any action will result in both courses turning into 'goat tracks' which will unplayable. You heard it here first Response to the GM's review response I am given to understand that you have unsuccessfully tried to 'phase out' the 10 experienced PGA members that you are so proud of? The claims that you "send out multiple staff each day for marshalling" is total rubbish. I have not met anyone who has seen one of these elusive staff members. The only staff that we ever see on the course are those driving the drinks cart, and that is no doubt because it is money driven You state that "the course has some dry spots which we are working on and repairing". Unfortunately there is no evidence of this as the areas referred to in my post 4 weeks ago have had no work done to them since, that is evident. I do note however that a GUR sign (see photo) has since been placed on the substandard area on the 18th green on the Tuart course but no attempt, that we can see, to repair the problem. I note also that where the edges of the greens elsewhere are deteriorating your repair strategy appears to simply be reducing the size of the green such that the green no longer encapsulates the deteriorating areas. You state in your response that the poor condition of the course is due to two reasons, excessive heat and excessive traffic. There is no question that heat has played a part in some of the dry areas on the course but does not explain those areas that are obviously suffering for other reasons, e.g. disease (which does not appear to have been addressed), see photo of black patch on fairway. With regards to the excessive traffic excuse the extent of the traffic on the course is not, as I understand it, too dissimilar to last year and the year before that, but it has got significantly worse over these last few years. The maintenance of the course leaves a lot to be desired. For example I am not sure if the intent when cutting the fairways is to 'overcut' to the point that subsoil is exposed to the 'excessive heat' and 'excessive traffic'. To the layman this is not right, see photos The course is obviously not prepared before the days play, especially on weekends (which presumably are your busiest days). This is evidenced by, amongst other things, the fact that bunkers have not been raked as there are footprints from the day before, see photo, and the greens inspected, see photos of 9th green on the Tuart that appears to have been dug up by an animal Your staff advised that a red flag signifies a hole at the front of the green, white in the middle and yellow at the back. In reality these flags could be anywhere on the green, see photo of yellow flag at the front of the green Whilst I acknowledge that the extent of the excessive unrepaired pitch marks on the greens is somewhat outside your control there is no evidenced attempt to 'educate' players in this regard. I repeat my earlier prediction that a 'goat track' beckons should action no be taken

Last Thursday, we went to the Wembley Golf Course to practise our swing at the driving range. There's not only ground level but also an upstairs at Wembley driving range. The facility is all automated with ball loading and a screen that shows how many balls have been used. We each took about three goes to get us hitting and straight and far. One hundred balls was roughly $23, shared by three of us. The golf course is set in beautifully landscaped park lands, and there is plenty of parking. The staff in the shop are friendly and helpful. Wembley Golf Course attracts a nice friendly crowd, and we also enjoyed a drink at the 19th hole, which is family friendly, called 300 Acres Bar. It was a great afternoon.

We came by to do the mini golf. You pay at the main shop area and get the balls and putters. The 18 holes were quite interesting and they all had their own quirks. Each hole had three different coloured holes, all with varying levels of difficulty. There were multiple times that the ball left the course and ended up down a bank or in a body of water, which was a bit unnerving. Overall the course was quite fun and there was plenty of shade as well as a water fountain by the start. The place also had a driving range which looked quite nice. It looked like it had a screen to map the ball you hit. There is also a restaurant as well as a playground. This is all on top of the actual full golf course on site.

Wembley Golf Course has become a regular haunt for me, primarily for its fantastic driving range. It's not just your standard, run-of-the-mill facility; it's a genuinely enjoyable experience. The range is spacious, well-maintained, and equipped with quality mats and balls. The automated ball dispensers are efficient, meaning you spend more time practicing and less time fiddling with machines. What really sets it apart, though, is the atmosphere. There's a buzz of friendly competition and a relaxed vibe that makes practicing feel less like a chore and more like a social outing. Whether you're a seasoned golfer or a complete beginner, you'll find something to enjoy at the Wembley driving range.

Beyond the excellent driving range, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the bar food. Often, golf course bar food is an afterthought, but Wembley has clearly put some effort into their menu. I recently tried their [insert specific item, e.g., "chicken wings"] and they were fantastic – crispy, flavorful, and generously portioned. The [mention another item, e.g., "loaded fries"] were also a hit, packed with toppings and perfect for sharing. The prices are reasonable, especially considering the quality and portion sizes. It’s a great spot to grab a bite and a drink after a practice session or a round of golf.

The clubhouse itself is welcoming and comfortable, with plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. The staff are friendly and efficient, adding to the overall positive experience. The views of the course are also a nice bonus, providing a relaxing backdrop to your meal or drink.

Wembley Golf Course offers a complete package. It's not just a place to play golf; it's a destination for a fun and enjoyable time. The combination of the top-notch driving range, the surprisingly good bar food, and the friendly atmosphere makes it a place I'll continue to visit. Whether you're looking to improve your swing, grab a casual meal, or simply enjoy a pleasant afternoon, Wembley Golf Course delivers. It’s a great place for social golfers and people just looking to have a fun time. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a well-rounded...

Excellent facilities and immaculate course, by far the best kept public course in WA. 2 stars because the website double booked us (which happens and we had the issue totally sorted out) after which we let the other group go first because it was a weekend so regardless we would have been waiting for the group's on the tees. However the group behind us began to get confrontational about the situation and having to wait an extra 6 minutes after we showed them proof we had both groups booked for the same time on the Tuart course. They grabbed a staff member who began to quiz us on the situation, who we then showed that we had been double booked, even though it was the same staff member who served both groups about 10 minutes prior. During our first 9 we were constantly being hit up on by the following group almost being hit by long drives and taking their shots before we had the chance to leave the greens on the par 3s. They then had the gaul to approach us and tell us to hurry up, although we had nowhere to go because we were waiting for the group ahead of us who was waiting for the group ahead of them and so on (you know how golf works). We actually finished the 18 in just under 4 hours so the game was rolling really quick. I just think the way the staff handled the situation was poor and the fact that this isn't the first time that I've been repeatedly hit up on and almost hit by golf balls during a busy day, with people becoming aggressive at Wembley that I'm...
