We had an awful experience snowboarding here last season, so awful it still sends chills down my spine remembering it. We rented two snowboards from the rental adjacent to the lifts, and placed them in the outside ski compartment of the gondola when going up the mountain (the lift personnel even secured them in place). When the gondola was approaching the top of the mountain, a huge gust of wind came and blew both of our snowboards out, causing them to fall somewhere down below. We immediately went to the ski rental at the top of the mountain, where they told us that someone will search for the boards on a snow mobile. In the meantime we were given replacement boards. When we returned a few hours later, we discovered that no one went out looking for the boards. We were treated like thieves by the ski rental personnel, especially the awfully rude Australian guy Steve (?) that was working there (including threatening to call the police on us). Needless to say we ended up paying 280 euros per board, for something that was completely out of our hands. The lift personnel should have warned us about the strong winds, and suggested that we take the boards inside in the first place. We were told that the insurance of the lift company refused to refund us the price of the boards a few months later, although initially we were told that they will be covered. The worst part of this experience is the treatment we received from the ski rental personnel. Instead of empathizing with us for the awful situation we were in, we were treated like dirt. Read moreSCAM WHEN PAYING Terrible service and staff- Angelica very unhelpful. No manager to help.- In january we visited the ski resort. On arrival we went to purchase ski passes paying on card. The card machine said 'TRANSACTION COMPLETE' however the girl behind the counter in the office said it did not go through no her side. I logged immediately onto my online banking to check and it showed the money was taken. I showed the girl and i suppose her manager but despite this they refused to accept it, said they have not got the money and they said we had to pay again. This time we put the transaction on a credit card as it seemed very weird to me. They said in a few days if the money was taken twice they would refund the money the following week. Needles to say- I am still waiting for the moeny. It has been nearly two months and despite numerous calls and emails they never refunded the money. Every time we tried to contact them theywere very unhelpful and didn't wan to know. Angelica the lady who served us she would not come to the phone and apparently there is no manager to help either. Every reply is ' send an email'. But they ignore the emails. Absolutely discusting that a ski resort this size would be stealing money from holiday makers. Be very careful when paying with your bank cards here. Better to pay on credit card. We will now try claim the money back with the credit...

Great modern cuisine - do not forget to visit KristalHutte + Albergo Panorama restaurant. We prefer to pair it with Hochfugen ski resort as there is better skiing in the morning till noon - great black slopes - wide and not crowded. If you come back to Hochzillertal around lunch time slopes are getting bumpy and very crowded, so better to stay on the other side of the mountain. Must be great during powder days as the resort has great powder hillsides. And they open from 7:30, so get ready to get uo early,...
