The live show was about an hour with a top notch 11 piece orchestra and a soprano soloist complemented by the story of the Strauss legacy told by a recorded narrator and a high-tech, high resolution screen presentation. There isn’t a bad seat in the house (so don’t pay more than you need to) and when I went on a Thursday night it was only half full. The interactive museum upstairs was okay but 20 minutes was enough to see everything. My ticket said the show started at 7pm but it really didn’t start until 8:30pm. The staff were friendly and apologetic about the start time. Check before you go. The 7pm start time was probably for the dinner and champagne option which I didn’t buy. The venue is beautiful but a 15 minute Uber ride from Hotel Stefanie where we stayed and there is not much else to do in the neighbourhood. Again beautiful music with an...

House of Strauss is wonderful, and well worth a visit. The exhibit is very engaging - lots of interactive multimedia elements, and plenty of opportunities to listen to the Waltzes that made the Strauss family so famous! I’d recommend starting with the short film screening before visiting the exhibits.

Also, the cafe was delicious. We got ravioli and apple strudel and it was one of the best meals we had over a full month in Vienna. Seriously!

We didn’t have a chance to see a live performance, but the performance space is very well restored.

Overall, it was one of the more unique museum experiences I’ve had, and I recommend it full heartedly.

p.s. the building and decor is so fun. Worth the price of...

If you’re a fan of Strauss or classical music, the House of Strauss at Casino Zƶgernitz is an absolute must-visit. Imagine sitting in the same beautifully restored hall where the Strauss family once played, surrounded by elegant 19th-century charm, as a live orchestra brings timeless waltzes to life. The concert is a magical hour of music, ending with the iconic Blue Danube and Radetzky March—each piece introduced with fascinating historical background that adds depth to the experience. Arrive early to explore the immersive Strauss exhibition and enjoy a meal at the lovely outdoor restaurant. It’s not just a concert—it’s a journey into Vienna’s...
