The beach is amazing on this side of the island. I had a fun time in the pool area as well. Lots of great music, good drinks, pool beach ball fun, nice pool chairs, dancing, singing, champagne waterfalls, etc...
It seems as though Coco Cay moved the music and the party to the adults only side of the island, from the main pool in Coco Cay. I was in Coco Cay a few months back and realized that the DJ was not at the main pool anymore and assumed that RC moved the party to Hideaway Bay. This prompted me to buy the excursion to visit Hideaway Bay. Now that the fun music and vibes are there, RC is basically charging $25 pp to go to where the party is. (which I'm assuming RC will only keep increasing in price). This has left what used to be included for free at the main pool, now cost extra money. I feel this is a bit shady for RC. Tickets should not be extra for Hideaway Bay, it should be included just as the solarium is free for adults only!! I am torn on whether I will continue to pay the fee to go to where the party is.
That being said, the pool is great, the beach is great, we had a little problem finding chairs by the pool but eventually found two unoccupied chairs.
The food at the Hideaway Hut was amazing! I had the fish sandwich and I was wonderfully surprised at how good it was. Hideaway Hut also serves fresh ceviche, coconut shrimp, burgers, chicken sandwiches, and salads. Great job on the food at Hideaway Hut. On another note, "slice of paradise" was underwhelming. I would not repeat a visit here. The pizza was no better than Sorrento's on the ship, and it was nothing special! I was expecting something better than Sorrento's quality for how big the hype was.
RC offers a shuttle to and from hideaway Bay, although the 5 minutes walk was not difficult. The foliage was great to see on the short walk.
I would recommend wearing comfortable walking sandals or...
Read moreHideaway Beach: A Mixed Bag with Accessibility Concerns While we've thoroughly enjoyed our past experiences at Hideaway Beach, our recent visit left us feeling a bit underwhelmed. Despite its stunning natural beauty, a few key issues tarnished our stay. Accessibility Challenges: As a person with mobility limitations, I found the transportation to Hideaway Beach to be confusing and somewhat inaccessible. Navigating the tram system from the port, particularly for those who require assistance, can be challenging. Additionally, being informed that I would need to walk back to the ship from the port was a major inconvenience. Food and Beverage: The food options at Hideaway Beach were, unfortunately, mediocre. The burger was dry, the shrimp lacked flavor, and the fruit selection was limited. The beach service was also underwhelming, with staff members often preoccupied with their personal devices rather than assisting guests. Weather and Accommodations: While the weather didn't cooperate for the hot air balloon experience, we were disappointed that the beach didn't offer alternative accommodations or activities to make up for the missed opportunity. The beach also seems to make it intentionally difficult for guests to access other, less expensive beaches by limiting tram access and requiring lengthy walks. Crowded Conditions: The close proximity of the beach chairs created a crowded and uncomfortable atmosphere. It felt like we were packed in like sardines, lacking the privacy and relaxation typically associated with a beach vacation. Despite these shortcomings, Hideaway Beach remains a beautiful destination. However, it's essential to address the accessibility, food quality, and customer service issues to ensure a more enjoyable experience...
Read moreFirst trip to CocoCay and it did not dissapoint. Royal Caribbean did a great job with the whole island, no question that there is something for everyone. Plenty of activities for all ages, with the water park, zip lines, mutiple amazing pools, beautiful beaches both on the ocean and lagoon, and top notch amenities all over the island. Hideaway Beach is a great place on the island for adults to go to have a good time in a children free atmosphere. The breach is amazing, with enough lounge chairs and umbrellas for all, over looking a decent sized smaller bay protected by a natural rock formation with about a ten foot opening allowing the tide to rise snd fall normally. There are plenty of places to get complimentary food and drink and a few bars as well. Behind the beach area is a beautiful, massive pool with large swim up bar and across the way is the DJ both with a DJ that not only got the party started, he kept it going the entire day! The pool was party central with people dancing, singing, and just having a great time. The staff are friendly and attentive and keep the whole Hideaway Beach area beautiful. Whether you want to party it up, or just kick back and relax, Hideaway Beach has it all and everything in between....
