A great beach for adults to relax and enjoy an ideallic beach in a beautiful spot. Serenity Bay is on Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay. The island has 3 beaches. 2 for families and one for adults only. Serenity Beach is the adult only option and is far from the other 2 beaches. To get there, you must either take 2 trams or walk to the second tram from the boat. The trams run about every 10-15 minutes and have shady waiting areas. The approach to the beach is down a long straight road that looks like it used to be the runway for the island. The moment you arrive, the atmosphere shifts to quiet calm—this adults-only beach is reserved for guests 18 and older. It is a great escape from the busier family zones. The sand is soft and surprisingly cool under your feet when you walk in the shaded areas, a small but pleasant detail that makes setting in even more relaxing. Lounge chairs and umbrellas line the shore, and arriving early ensures the best shady spots. These are free and on a first come-first served basis. There are cabanas that you can rent for a fee. The turquoise water stretches out shallow for a long distance, making it easy to float, swim, or simply wade without worry. Lunch is served at each of the beaches to include this one. A special Serenity Bay BBQ provides freshly grilled meals, and servers stroll by offering cocktails so you don’t have to leave your chair. The combination of tranquility, natural beauty, and Disney hospitality makes Serenity Bay a highlight of Castaway Cay. For adults seeking peace and a slower pace, I would...
Read moreThis beach is amazing. The views are spectacular and it is much quieter than the family beach on Castaway Cay. You can access the beach by using the tram or alternatively you can walk down the runway from the central island area. The travel time is about the same to tram versus walking. Included in your cruise cost is the BBQ at Serenity Bay. It is open from 11:30 to 2:00 and has many more options than the family beach food service areas. Even if the food service is not operational you can still enter the BBQ area to use the soda machine. Chairs on the beach are first come first serve but you can also contact Disney to reserve a Cabana. Smoking areas are two, one beside the bar area as you enter Serenity Bay, and the second is at the far end of the beach past to last beach chairs. The water is shallow for a long way out so you can very easily snorkel, wade, or even sit directly on the sand while in the water. The sand is very soft on the beach and we'll into the water with very few rocks. The tide does come in mildly through the day, so you may have to adjust your expectations when entering the water later in the day. The area available for swimming is large and never felt crowded even at peak usage. Bar service is available at the beach chairs so you don't have to leave. Use the same Key To The World card as on the ship to pay for drinks. Rest rooms and rinse showers are available by the...
Read moreSignificantly quieter than the family beach. It is adults only— 18 & up. Don’t spoil the fun by bringing your children or teens. No one cares how mature or quiet you promise they are. It ruins the experience for everyone else, even though your children are adorable. It’s why there’s a family beach. There are waiters taking drink orders nearby and the Castaway Air Bar is at the beach entrance. There’s plenty of seating and even hammocks. The water is clear, and gets about hip deep (I’m about 5’2” so I guess 3 feet?). You can easily sit in the water or swim and snorkel if you wanted to. Lunch is also served just outside the beach area as well. Serenity Bay’s flaw is the distance it is from the ship. It’s a solid 2 miles, clear on the farthest side of the island. (I say this distance semi confidently since it’s the length of the air strip and part of the 5K route. But I’m also bad at math.) Regardless it’s 3 tram stops and possibly a tram transfer to...
