Baridhara DOHS Convention Centre — Attraction in Dhaka Metropolitan

The location of this convention centre is nice. It has six floors. Each floor can be rented out for a party -- usually, matrimonial.

Six floors available for rent creates its bottlenecks.

The more the number of floors are rented out, the more clogging is created for car parking.

The premise has an underground parking. However, this area becomes clogged when multiple floors are rented out.

It is adviseable to start early to ensure car parking.

At the entrance, there is a long staircase. This means, elderly people shall find climbing the stairs very challenging.

Like many convention centres in Dhaka, this centre is not good for wheelchair people.

Each floor has two components. One for sitting guests and dining, and a separate dining space. The capacity for each floor for one batch would be max 200.

If your party size is 200-250, this convention centre is OK. But do keep the above points in mind if you are the host and would want your guests to feel...

A good place to organise indoor program for a maximum number of 200 people. Location is in the heart of the city. They have 2 gates to enter in but the eastern side gate kept close in the evening. May be for security reasons but hassle is huge when no alternative way to reach main gate from the second gate and the distance is maximum 100 meters. You have to spend at least 30 minutes to reach the first gate from the second gate. Almost impossible to go on foot. You have to take rickshaw for two times as two different routes and in the DOHS area rickshaw is not allowed without uniforms. Sitting arrangements are a bit old and not maintained properly. Bathrooms are not satisfactory. The entrance stairs are good to look at. The catering service is up to the mark. They may Keep the second gate opening in the evening appointing a watch man or make an approach road to reach 2nd gate...

It is situated at the western corner of Baridhara DOHS. The placement of the convention center is appropriate. There is a large area for car parking which very useful for a huge gathering. There are two halls , one in the ground floor and in the first floor. The overall place is not so big but cozy. The arrangements and the stage workers here is also good . Regarding the sitting arrangements the furnitures are arranged by the center's own belongings. The place is not good for them who don't own private vehicle.
