Magpie is a local restaurant but quite popular in Basundhara Residential Area. The restaurant is based on Bengali cuisine. If you want a very simple quick, very cheap local meal, this is a great restaurant. You will get a basic menu choice based around dal, curry and rice or biryani and it will cost $4 for two. Very basic, but clean and the food is good. I tried breakfast several times and will be doing it in future as well. Their Halim is good as well. I like their food but the prices are bit high in compare with other surrounding restaurants. The restaurant is very crowded. Mostly students go there to eat as because it's near by two well known private universities in Bangladesh. The restaurant always serve healthy food. One thing about this restaurant disappoints me is the behaviour of the clients. They sometimes show negative attitude. They have finger licking prawn curry. I used to have it twice in a week. It is a perfect place to go with friends if you have a cheap budget. Overall I loved the restaurant and giving it 5 stars. But as I already mentioned about the behaviour of the clients should be more friendly and positive. I recommend everyone to visit there and taste their foods...

Read moreExtremely disappointing experience at this supposedly upscale restaurant. Despite the fine-dining ambiance, the service was shockingly unprofessional. While we were still eating lunch, the manager publicly scolded and physically abused a waiter in full view of the entire dining room. What was more appalling was how casually the staff treated this incident – when my friend intervened, they dismissed the concern like it was normal behavior. Completely unacceptable for any establishment, let alone one with these prices.
The food failed to justify the cost: Kacchi (300 tk): Two mutton pieces, potato, and egg. Meat was tough and undercooked, flavors were bland. Overpriced for quality. Borhani (60 tk/glass): Average taste, definitely not worth the price. Falooda (200 tk): Ice-cream based but tasted cheap and artificial. Massively overpriced.
Verdict: Paying premium prices for subpar food is bad enough. Witnessing staff abuse and the management's indifference to it? That's inexcusable. We will never return. Save your money and dignity – this place doesn't...
