Not just another of the hundreds of castles that can be seen in Belgium. Clearly one of my favourites in terms of architecture, although information inside the castle is virtually nonexistent. Seen from the outside it is beautiful and looks like the perfect set for a movie. A brief history of its history and refection is presented on large information boards right before the entrance. Not in English though. The fee is slightly too expensive for a castle that is basically totally empty. There is no furniture, no tapestry, no window panes, no souvenir shop, no toilets, no heating, no surveillance. Only an old used torture table forgotten by its owners in one room under the south tower. But maybe part of the fun in visiting this ghostly castle is due to the very fact that it is completly deserted. The visitors can go through the various towers and rooms as they please, with the wind and the numerous pigeons as they only companions. Those who like spooky places...

This castle is amazing to visit. There is a lot of information available in Dutch and in French, German, or English by scanning QR codes. There are also audio tracks available while inside the castle using QR codes. The castle itself is impressive and has a lot of the original infrastructure. There is also a nice walking tour around the entire castle moat.

The tallest tower is difficult to access since it has a very narrow staircase up to the look out. There is also a lot of bird nests and waste in each room, which can impact your experience. Unfortunately, the day that I visited, June 26th, there were dead birds in one of the rooms.

There are toilets available and a small gift shop. I went on a Thursday afternoon and there were only two other people in the...

Nice authentic castle that had was restored over the years. Careful though with toddlers and small children as it is not safe. You can scan qr codes around the castle which gives you info of the place. They could also just put some carboards with that short info as well, as now you could see everyone listening to it via trheir phone on phone speakers. Reading would be easier….the views are nice. In one tower there was a lot of bird poo and it was smelly. We were in an out within one hour so it’s not that big. It was clean though. Toilets were clean as well, just missing soap and paper. Easy parking close by. There is also a tiny shop and a brasserie to...
