What an amazing place! A definite 'must see' in my view. Why? Well, although it's a fairly small cave, it has all the features and feel of the commercial caves, but this one is free. And best of all, you can safely enter and swim in the amazing natural pool. It's rare for tourist attractions to be free and also then allow you to swim. The cave is on the grounds of the Grotto Bay Beach Resort, so go through and find the cave at the back. Says it closes at 5pm, but we found it open at 5.30pm and swam in there.
Tip: bring your swimming gear and a towel and you won't regret it. This place is only a short walk from Tom Moores Jungle - another cave worth diving into but not as interesting as this Cathedral Cave in my view. We then had a meal at the Grotto Beach Hotel which was not only delicious but very reasonably priced considering some of the prices we have paid at other less nice eateries. Cathedral Cave is located on Grotto Bay Resort property. You'll notice that the entire island of Bermuda is a very at your own risk place. So, proceed with caution. Once you park, walk towards the water and stay towards the left. You’ll eventually see a small warning sign, that's the entrance. Walk down the steps and hang out in the cave for a bit.
