Jamaican Grill (Baileys Bay) — Restaurant in Main Island

Was staying at a nearby resort but wasn’t thrilled with the food or the prices there. Didn’t have many options but luckily I found this gem nearby. Wound up eating there twice in 3 days, the food here is crazy good. The ox tail was succulent, the bbq jerk wings fell of the bone, and I didn’t have a single thing here that I didn’t like. The staff was super helpful and accommodating even bringing a chair out front so my friend and I could enjoy the meal while it was still fresh and also recommending their favorite hot sauces from the array atop the counter. 20 minute walk from the Grotto Bay resort to this gem. Very local, fantastic food. Tim was super friendly, letting us taste several dishes - making it difficult to choose! The crispy jerked salmon and BBQ jerked chicken were our choices, but Tim threw in a container of red beans and rice with curried goat. WOW. We've lived in the Middle East, where goat is a specialty. But the Jamaican Grill curried goat was hands down the best I've had anywhere in the world. Be sure to also get the pumpkin rice with gravy. So we were out & about. Every restaurant was packed. Came across The Jamaican Grill. What a gem. This is the place if you're looking for a mom & pop. We watched all the locals pulling in to eat. Truck drivers, fire department personnel. I hah the Goat & it was delicious! My wife wasn't sure & they let her taste anything there. All the food was spectacular.
