My wife and I decided to go back to Bermuda for our 25th Anniversary. We had cruised 18 years ago and had promised then to return. After a thorough research we decided on The Reefs. My 1st encounter was a couple of days prior to departure. Hurricane Humberto had struck the evening before. I had trouble reaching the resort on both numbers and kept receiving the recording that the call could not go through. I tried using my cellphone and dialed both numbers. The 800 number dialed but no one answered. On the second try someone answered! I explained the circumstances and asked if he was OK. He explained that both he and the resort were both OK. I explained that I just wanted to verify our booking and the choices that had been selected on a prior email. He (Chris) explained that power was still out, but that emergency power on the premises was in place. He was able to verify our booking and we went through the choices quickly. I did tell him about our 25th Anniversary, and I requested an arrangement in our room on arrival. I didn't want to take up too much of his valuable time, since the resort and the current guests were of more importance at the time. He and I both agreed that a follow up call the next day would be best. The next day I spoke with Donna and re-verified the information. She explained that the power had returned. Both Chris and Donna were utmost professionals - both cool as a cucumber in the circumstances and yet very personable. I felt like our trip had already started the before leaving. I was reassured that the resort and all staff and guests had survived the hurricane. We arrived on Saturday 9/21 in the early afternoon after a quick flight from JFK. We were greeted by another personable professional - Jozhahne. All staff are committed to helping complete YOUR experience. You would not even know that Humberto had hit the resort. We want to thank Lena Mae, Weiman, Rob, Richard, Kris Anthony, Harney, Vincent and Marc Angelo for helping us complete our vision. All staff at The reefs are as warm and inviting as the surrounding waters! The guests that we met are also special. It seems that we as 1st timers were out of the ordinary. We met couples who were working on their 6th, 10th, 15th and 20th revisit. The commonality to their repeat return is the Staff. Oh a d don't forget the amazing and spotless grounds. Tropical Storm Jerry passed while we were visiting. It was aa amazing display of logistics in how they prepared for the storm and then seamlessly returned the grounds to its original beauty afterwards!

The Reefs left a wonderful impression on me during our short 3 day family getaway. The snorkeling at the resort is top notch, with beautiful coral and wildlife plentiful and easy to find. The photo is of the weekly beachfront cookout, with a bonfire and live entertainment. The spa offers a great set of services, and my deep tissue massage was very high quality and the treatment rooms were 1st class. Although my mother’s manicure was great, it didn’t last very long. I think that has more to do with the high humidity than the service. The staff is extremely kind, offering personal touches when they can, and even at capacity, the resort doesn’t feel crowded. The bed was comfortable, and the view from the balcony would be hard to beat. The tile floor isn’t my taste, but the staff keeps the rooms spotless, with turndown service and complimentary in room Mixers for a Dark and Stormy on your arrival. The food is fine; I’ve enjoyed more extravagant meals, but I was never disappointed. The dish I enjoyed best at Aqua Terra was the Ravioli appetizer. The owner and GM are very present and hands on, and greet the guests personally and offer extras to return guests like my parents. It was wonderful to see them being taken care of. The resort is clearly privately owned, but well maintained and just a short walk from Gibbs lighthouse. It lacks corporate ‘polish’ but offers a charm and excellence that isn’t always present in resorts that update their rooms and their staff every few years. I look forward to returning someday.

The food is good, and the views are incredible. The staff is very friendly as are most people in Bermuda. I was in Bermuda house sitting for a friend with a three year old Beagle named Freyja. On one of the first days, I took her to the Reef's and spoke with a manager about whether Freyja was allowed on the deck for drinks and lunch. The manager said yes, and after this I had only a little bit of an issue. The wait staff did not seem to always know if the dog was allowed and I was ignored for a while (10+ minutes) until they figured out if it was okay to server me with Freyja. Afterwards, I always thanked them and tipped them an additional ten percent on top of the %17 included in the bill. There was no problem until one Sunday when they just flat out told me the dog was not allowed. The had changed their setup for Sunday, but one of the wait staff suggested I could still eat "a la Carte" at restaurant by the beach. I asked him to double check, as I knew dogs were not allowed on the beach in Bermuda. There was some more running around and ultimately a manager came out and suggested I tie the dog up and proceed to the restaurant by the beach. I thanked him and left. My complaint is that several times the staff ignored me and ultimately were abrupt with me about the dog. They also kept me waiting several times while they figured out their policies. I would have gladly accepted a "yes" or a "no" or even a "not today". I would avoid "The Reefs" if have a dog.

The location of The Reefs Resort was perfect. Centrally located on 'the elbow' of the island with its own private beach was great. We upgraded from a poolside room to a junior suite, which i would do again..there was a balcony overlooking the ocean and private beach and we were luckly to witness a beach wedding during our stay which provided the nighly music & entertainment. For those of you looking for a great place to stay, the price of The Reefs may turn you away, but consider that an awesome breakfast was included, no additional cost for use of beach lounge, snorkle gear, kayaks, paddle board, pickleball, and tennis courts, it was very economical. There are no car rentals for tourists, and taxis are EXPENSIVE, so plan on either taking the bus (stops are everywhere) or rent a Yoyo. DO NOT RENT A TWIZZY..they are way too small and uncomfortable. For a small increase in price, the Yoyo is a 2 seater side by side, has air conditioning, bluetooth and a place to store shopping bags or snorkle gear/coolers. We spent less than $100 to explore the entire island for 24 hours and there was a charging station right at The Reefs. We had a little snafu with the room charges upon checkout, but it was very courteously addressed with no complaints. I would definitely recommend the Reefs for couples or those travelling with older children.

It is truly our favorite place in Bermuda! We celebrated 40 years of Marriage Sept10 and would not be anywhere else but The Reefs. Gourmet meals, Incredible Beach, rooms with a great view, infinity pool overlooking the beautiful Atlantic, full complementary breakfast and excellent staff make this a 5 Star Resort. Everything is right there. Beautiful beach with chairs umbrellas steps away and a beautiful Spa Serena where my husband and I had fabulous massages and body treatments. Awesome Yoga classes over the ocean at the point! Everyone is so happy and treated us so special during our 7 day stay. Thank you for the most beautiful room at the point! We had such a memorable 40 th Anniversay! Special thanks to Joni & Wilfredo who never missed a beat as our wait staff. Our incredible omelette man and the distinguished Bermudian host who was always so gracious and gave us the best advice about the hurricane coming and also Sherime and Marcus for helping us to catch the only flight out #Bermuda Air! Can’t wait to be back next year! Cheers Jeanne and Patrick

Wow was I impressed. Gorgeous hotel. We stayed cliffside, so right below the patio outside the restaurant. We were so close to the main area of the hotel and pool, but had a walk to the beach. It was quiet, but if you wanted quieter, I think I would stay beach view. They are down the hill, closer to the beach, but near Coconuts restaurant that is also part of the resort, but it is definitely a walk and a lot of stairs. Our spot was great. The air conditioner was so quiet for a hotel. The bed was very comfortable. It definitely had a nice memory foam topper, the pillows were very mushy, but kinda worked because you just sank into the bed. The room was cheerful and the bathroom was a nice size. The staff was so friendly and amazing. Food was average. But food seemed to be average on most of the island. The location was absolutely amazing
