I want to start by saying that our overall experience was pretty good, not the best but pretty good.

We arrived in two groups with the first arriving 20 minutes before the other. We showed up with no reservations and they said they could accommodate us but it would have to be in the bar area after sliding some tables together. Since it was last minute and no reservations this was more than acceptable. We were seated and given menus at about 7:30 PM and were asked for a drink order roughly 10 minutes later. The second half of our group of 12 arrived at 8 & drinks were asked if them and the food order commenced at about 8:10 PM.

Unfortunately, that's where the attentiveness ended. There was a couple of times that the waiter came and gave a new beer to those that had ordered, and a mixed drink refill, but overall for the next hour, until 9:15 pm we heard nothing about our food. I flagged our waiter and asked & he didn't know, so he left & came back to tell us we're next. At 9:20 the first if our plates came out & 9/12 got their food & another 10 minutes went by before the last three got their orders.

My meal was pretty good, I got the escargot entree and the ribeye main. The escargot was well cooked and hot when it arrived. They didn't make it with a garlic and pesto that I'm used to, but a garlic bread crouton with parmesan mixed in on a clarified butter bath. It was pretty good! My main I had asked for medium rare, but I got on the high side of medium and the baked potato was really hard. The steak was well seasoned and the bordelaise sauce was phenomenal.

While the overall meal was a win, I personally think the quality vs the price, coupled with the disparity in service, definitely makes this place a recowarn. I think with a smaller party or by yourself this place would be great, but if you have a large group, you need to make reservations and make this place your one stop for the night, because you're gonna be...

8 of us went to brunch today, 10th November, 2024 to celebrate my brother's birthday. It was the second week for brunch, and we all enjoyed our food immensely. The only disappointment was the fish chowder, which was too spicy for our palates. The cold food selection was very tasty and the sushi was very good albeit I only sampled the vegetable sushi. The hot food selection was more than adequate as there were numerous dishes from which to choose . There was more than enough choices for desserts even though I only tried the fruit salad as I was more than satisfied with the cold and hot dishes, and had very little room for dessert. Shine Hayward played "Happy birthday " which added an extra special touch to the occasion. The only complaint I have is that the wait staff did not seem as welcoming and friendly as they were the last time I was there for lunch, which was back in 2023. The maitre'd was very friendly and accommodating. I enjoyed the brunch so much that I cannot wait to go again, and I will definitely recommend it to my family...

Not sure why this place exists and has people eating here. From the start we had bad service when placing our order. Then when we finally got our order, we were in shock. Stuffed portabelo mushroom app. Was hard to look at. King salad had no taste, dry leaves and embarrassing mix. Our ceasar salad which we added shrimp to wasn't any better, shrimp felt uncooked and tasteless. Do not order seafood linguini, unless you never tasted real pasta before than it doesn't matter. I wouldn't touch any of their pasta dishes based on what I received in this Linguini. Advice for cooks: maybe start with some salted water. Veg strudel is what held us up, and kept us from doing a charge back on our $130 order. The fish chowder was also ok (if you have a strong heart for salty canned food) if you do find yourself with no other options but to eat at this sorry place. Our party of 4 we're all dissatisfied. Will not come back to Henry VIII to eat. Views are...

Went to brunch as I hadn't been in years. We were greeted by friendly staff and sat near a window with a lovely view. Everything was ok, most cold offerings including the sushi were good. Hot food was mediocre. The surprise was the lobster salad. Delicious! Pumpkin-quinoa and beet salads also delicious. The joints of meat and the chicken were woefully under seasoned. I didn't bother with the fish. Most desserts were good. I'd go again because it's pretty inexpensive but I would stick to cold plates.

Good restaurant. Easy to get to from South Hampton. Good variety of good including a sushi menu. We ordered the king's salad, which was delicious, although the portions too small to share. We then ordered the Mediterranean Penne. That is a dish we would definitely get again. Jazz music was playing on a Sunday night and provided great background music. Finished the night with the bread and butter pudding for dessert. Don't skip that one! Check it out if you are in the area.
