Ludrong Memorial Garden is truly a hidden gem in the heart of Thimphu. Surrounded by the serene flow of the Wang Chhu River, this well-maintained park offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, peaceful ambience, and cultural charm. The lush greenery, vibrant flowers, and shaded walking paths make it an ideal place for a relaxing stroll, quiet reflection, or a family picnic. The garden’s open spaces and riverside views create a refreshing escape from the city’s hustle, while the gentle sounds of nature add to its calming atmosphere. Whether you’re a local seeking a moment of peace or a visitor wanting to experience Bhutan’s natural tranquility, Ludrong Memorial Garden is a must-visit spot that captures the country’s harmony between nature and culture #nature

Lhudròng memorial garden in Thimphu is a beautiful place to spend time with nature. It is located behind the Thimphu Dzong. You can get the amazing view of the Dzong from here. The park is very big, clean and green. Beautiful landscapes and ponds having fishes make you feel happy. Take a walk and feel fresh and cool breeze, that will refresh you. Beautiful and colourful flowers, huge varieties of plants all around are like a treat to your eyes. The Thimphu Chu river flowing here, enhance the beauty of the park. It is a nice place to spend time with your loved ones especially with kiddos.

Scenic and well maintained nature park. Beautiful place to visit in Thimpu.  With its ponds and varied species of plants, as well as the spiritual sounds resounding from Tashichhodzong, along with the Himalayan wind fluttering through the prayer flags, coupled with the tranquil sounds of the Wangchu that flows beyond, it provides the perfect opportunity for all visitors to generate a greater sense of love and appreciation of Bhutan’s unique natural and spiritual beauty.

the garden was enriched with 560 varieties of trees, 362 scrub species, 385 bush species, 1,724 flower species and 75 fruit bearing trees.  While mostly dominated by oak and pine trees, as well as the flowers of the azalea species.

The area is home to at least 15 common bird species, as well as 30 seasonal birds, including the ibis bill and black-tailed crake.

With two prayer wheels, the garden not only provides recreational benefits, but also enhances the spiritual sanctity for all walks of life, serving as a centre for environmental education for schools and institutions, as well as providing tourists an attractive...

This is a hidden gem of a park, it is considerably smaller than the coronation and botanical parks, but I found it much richer and greener than the others where somehow you feel the area is barren even with flora surrounding you. May be it's the small amount of visitors it gets, the park feels fresh. The view of the dzong across the river makes it an ideal spot for photography. The small water bodies are a beautiful touch. Since the time I saw photos of the park 2 years back, I wanted to visit it. Unfortunately the pandemic messed up my plans, and today one wish fulfilled, and very...
