You absolutely have to meet Paulo from São Paulo.!he runs this Kayak business in Paraty by himself I believe. He offers two Kayak tours, or renting out the Kayak to go by yourself, like me and my girlfriend did. He showed us two routes on specialized maps and we did both of them. Around one of the islands, with the smallest beach you have ever seen (picture 1) and into the mangrove (picture 2), you can go very far into the mangrove by Kayak. If you have to pick one, I would advise the mangrove, its a one of a kind experience. I am writing this review from a 41th Floor rooftop bar that Paulo recommended us to visit in São Paulo! He truly cares for the tourists he meets and has been such an amazing person to recommend us many awesome places to visit around Brasil and São Paulo specifically, places we would not have found by ourselfs online as tourists. The Kayak renting might be a bit pricey compared to going out to eat at a restaurant, but believe me, it is totally worth it and will be one of the greatedt highlights of your travels. Excellent service, I wanted to do a tour of the northern coast where the mangroves are located, but without having to follow a tour as I'm more experienced. Natan rented me the kayak for a couple of hours and explained to me what the best route was and where I could have a break (I encountered a stunning beach all for myself). Great experience with a friendly tour guide that spoke sufficient English. I recommend you to go for a single-seated kayak, even if you are a beginner. It's easier for maneuvering. And I totally recommend the tour with mangroves. I had never experienced something like that before and I really liked the environment and the vibe a lot.
