Refron du Mar Pousada Paraty — Hotel in Região Geográfica Imediata de Angra dos Reis

Arriving in Paraty poorly planned, I set up shop in an internet cafe looking up rooms for two nights. It being the holiday season, I was having difficulty finding a place with vacancy. I found this pousada by chance on airbnb, but was overwhelmed by the price listed, so I gave them a call to see how much I can get the room for. Christy the older sister who helps run this lovely place told me that she had one room left and that she would hold it for me (more than half the price less listed on airbnb!). As luck would have it, as she hung up the phone with me, other travellers had walked in asking for that last room, but she stayed true to her word and saved the room for me. Upon arrival we were greeted by her and her welcoming family. This is such a wonderful and quaint pousada right on the beach front, about a 7 minute walk to the old city centre. The rooms are modest but very clean with everything you need: bed, towels, tv, wifi, ac and mini fridge. Breakfast is simple but sufficient. I would have to say the best part of the place is the family! Super nice and very helpful. Christy on the last day saved our butts by calling contacts of hers and arranged for a couple travelling to the next city to take us with them!
