An ancient Christian church. Dedicated to Saint Ermogenis. Built of natural fieldstones. Located in Episkopi village at the Cyprus seashore of Episkopi Bay, Mediterranean Sea. Emorgenis was born in the 4th century A.C. As a Christian catholic bishop Ermogenis was persecuted. Lord of ancient Samos, ordered Ermogenis to be killed. Ermogenis became a saint. Residents of Samos took his dead body and laid in a casket. Next, the casket was thrown into the sea. Christians found the casket on the seashore near the city of Curion. In this place, Christians built a small church dedicated to Saint Ermogenis. In the 17th century C.E, the church was rebuilt and in his present shape, remains in the Episkopi village.
