We have visited Cyprus over the last 4 years & each time have always come to Kourion Beach on multiple occasions due to the warmth of the Mediterranean, the sandy beach & the views. Each time we have had lunch at the Kourion Beach Restaurant to get away from the sun for an hour or so. The food - it doesn't fill you with glee when you look at the menu but it provides a quick bite to eat and options are available..I am a pescatarian so halloumi sandwiches are my go to. It's always interesting to see what arrives...each visit is different from just a sandwich with a few slices of halloumi to have tomatoes/cucumber included..sometimes you may get some fries on the side..Wife & I bet to see what we get. Sometimes ham is included even though ham is categorically stated not to be included.
Service - all I can say is it's interesting. You may wait a while...or you may not!! I can only describe the service with the same character as Dori from Finding Nemo...after a few seconds the staff do forget & no order is written down, hence I refer to my comment above of "you don't know what you're going to get." Reminders of wanting the bill is also forgotten. All this amuses us.
Overall - Remember, you're on holiday and there's no rush to go anywhere or do anything. I have never seen any abuse or aggression from staff (but I have towards which is unacceptable). You're on Cypriat time & things are relaxed.
Would we stop coming here? No, love the sea, the beach, the restaurant & the staff.
Update Aug 2025.....having returned to Cyprus this year, the establishment has changed hands, the building itself has been renovated and it looks better both inside and out. Change of table layout and additional roof shelter from the sun for customers. The food.....disappointingly the menu has completely changed. Instead of basic and affordable food, it is now very much been upgraded with dishes that are far more expensive and not what it used to be. Limited vegetarian options unless you just want seafood. Laying on Kourion Beach since 10am, the local Cypriuts are no longer here to sit at the restaurant and just have a coffee or a beer. There aren't many customers...even though previously you didn't know what you'd get from your order, the food was simple, Cypriot and good value for money. It seems the new owners have tried too hard, whether that is to completely change the face of the restaurant or for profits 🤷♂️ if the business was transferred to Lady's mile, it would fit right in....but from what I see, it doesn't here unfortunately. There are set up vehicles further down the beach that offer coffees and quick pittas for sandwiches...this is what local beach go'ers want and appreciate more. A shame it has changed, not for the better imo. Having spent years purchasing lunch here, I won't be anymore and use the other locals further...
Read moreNovember 2024 Back for a leisurely coffee and a great view over the waves rolling in to Kurion Bay. Service was prompt and cheerful even though we only wanted coffee. Sometimes we add hot apple pie and ice cream and sometimes a lovely grilled fish or baby calamari. But whatever we choose we are always made very welcome. A great place to have a relaxed meal with friends.
September 2024 back again to this relaxed restaurant on a wonderful bay at Kurion for our lunch. There has been a lot of good changes to a revised menu with snacks and Cypriot staples such as kleftiko. The service is attentive, cheerful and friendly and our choices were served quickly and nicely presented. The toilet and changing facilities are being given new marble tiling and it looks like some renovations are in hand. A comfortable and inviting place for our midday snacks and for meeting friends.
Here's what I wrote last May:- A good menu of locally sourced food esp the fresh fish. Most items are cooked to order so take a little longer. A good listing of allergy advice and items suitable for children. A good selection of soft and alcoholic drinks. The prices are reasonable and competitive. The furniture is unsophisticated but comfortable and next to the beautiful sea views a delightful panorama of beach and cliffs. The staff are friendly and willing but could do with more training. There is lots of good free parking and wheelchair access. There is also wash facilities for changing out of swim bathing wear before having a meal. A good venue for an...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at kourion beach restaurant and it was truly an outstanding experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a modern yet cozy design that makes you feel comfortable the moment you walk in.
The service was impeccable – attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable without being intrusive. Every recommendation from the staff was spot on, showing how much they care about their guests’ experience.
The food, however, was the real highlight. Each dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor. The ingredients tasted incredibly fresh, and the balance of textures and seasonings was impressive. My personal favorite was prawn with garlic butter , which was cooked to perfection and left me wanting more.
The drinks menu was equally impressive, offering a thoughtful selection of wines and creative cocktails that complemented the food perfectly.
Overall, kourion beach restaurant is a gem that raises the bar for dining in the area. Whether you’re planning a casual dinner, a romantic night out, or a special celebration, this restaurant delivers on all fronts. I cannot wait to return and try more...
