Indoor market stocking textiles, fresh produce, electronics, jewelry, snacks & beauty products.
A big vibrant market with plenty of fake brand name products but the variety of fresh fruit and vegetables is amazing. We went by nice tuc tuc, the market is big, full of little shops selling everything: food, clothing, accessories, barbers... any kind of food or vegetables, dried fish, fresh juices. All street food including fried spiders and insects. We didn't feel very safe there, watch your bag and don't wear jewels. The tuc tuc driver was a nice person. We fix the rate before journey. Read moreExploring Phsar Leu Market – A Seafood Paradise in Sihanoukville 🦐🦀 Today, I visited Phsar Leu Market, the most famous seafood market in Sihanoukville. My first impression was that it’s large, bustling, and offers an incredible variety – from shrimp, crabs, and squid to freshly caught ocean fish. The seafood here is extremely fresh, reasonably priced, and open to friendly bargaining. One of the best things is that you can buy fresh seafood at the market and have nearby food stalls cook it for you just the way you like – whether steamed, grilled, stir-fried with tamarind, or served in a bubbling hotpot. Enjoying seafood that’s freshly bought and cooked on the spot is truly an amazing experience. Beyond seafood, the market also offers tropical fruits, vegetables, spices, and mouthwatering Khmer street food. The lively atmosphere and the warm hospitality of the vendors make shopping here even more enjoyable. 📍If you’re a seafood lover and want to experience the local market culture in Sihanoukville, Phsar Leu Market is absolutely...
Read moreStepped into a time machine back in December 2005 and landed at Pshar Leu Market on 7 Makkara Street, Sihanoukville. Spoiler alert: I was the only foreigner there, making me feel like an explorer in an uncharted territory!
My tour guide? A local Khmer lady with a knack for weaving through stalls like a pro. She introduced me to a smorgasbord of local foods, turning breakfast into an epic culinary adventure at a quaint food stall. Who knew rice could do that?
The authenticity of the market? It's like they've never heard of 'touristy'. Fresh produce that looked like it just won 'Miss Farm Cambodia', trinkets that held more stories than a library, and the hustle and bustle? Music to my ears!
So if you're ever in Sihanoukville and crave a taste of the real Cambodia, march straight to Pshar Leu. And hey, if you do bump into another tourist, maybe check your...
