Don’t believe pictures! Yes, the room was huge BUT... it had a very bad smell, thousand of small ants in the fridge, some weird cocones all over the walls, badshits dirty, towels - dirty, bathroom door - broken. Btw before you get to your room you have to climb tiny narrow stairs 3-4 or, what’s so ever, floors up.. the entrance door to the room is glass so after we arrived and just lied down on bed somebody stand next to our door and was trying to see what’s or who is inside, he couldn’t see it but it looked creepy.||We booked this room for 13$ for 2ppl for 1 night and upon checkout were asked to pay 26 as 13 they “meant” for 1 person.....like daaa we are that stupid and will pay double....after arguing with them (which was pretty hard bcz they speak NO english) we still paid 13.||Anyways, If all of the above doesn’t disgust you so welcome))))||Ohhh, one more thing, when we arrived to this “guest house”, I received an email from the web site which I booked a room saying “sorry, guest house 171 is closing so they will not be able to accommodate you” .... well, I really hope they...
Read moreI had booked a single room with a fan but upon my arrival, I was immediately upgraded to a double room with a/c, with minimal additional cost. En-suite bathroom with all towels and toiletries, coffee, and bottles of water all provided. Cable TV as well, albeit I only caught up with the BBC news every few days. As I didn't need housekeeping facilities every day, I just popped to Reception to get some more bottled water. The staff were so friendly and helpful, always smiling. This is a wonderful place to stay. Good location, just a 10 minute walk to the Golden Lion roundabout and plenty of lovely places to eat and drink all within 5-20 minutes' walk, depending upon your taste. Slightly tricky to find, though, as Ekareach Street very long, so tell your tuk-tuk or moto driver, its at the 90 degree bend and he'll know exactly where to go. A wonderful stay here and I'm only sorry I'm limited to 5/5 as I would easily give this establishment...
Read moreI came upon Keara Guesthouse reeling from a very negative experience with one of the guesthouses on Serendipity Beach Road and so my objective was to find someplace clean and quiet. This place looked new and was situated on the main road but still well-away from the backpacker mayhem. ||||It turned out to be a very pleasant experience. I paid $8 for a fan room situated in the back of the building on the ground floor. It was completely quiet the whole night, I had clean linens, clean towels and hot water and the staff were very courteous. Without prompting, they even suggested I store my motorbike inside the lobby overnight for safekeeping. I was the only foreigner staying there, as far as I could tell, I otherwise only saw Khmer families, which was a nice alternative to whacked-out college kids and sex tourists. I would definitely...
