CK - campground kathy So heres our experience......... We just finished a great day at the skaha bluffs climbing and rolled into the campsite to start cooking up a well deserved meal. We cracked a beer and had a couple high fives to celebrate our great day and express our excitement for the meal about to be cooked.

The time was 10:01 on friday night. We started cooking my moms borcht she had given us the night before and the fresh pasta from the italian store in kamloops. Along with this we had tons of fresh veg from moms bountiful garden harvest..... stoked!

Campground Kathy (to be know as CK - never got her real name) soon arrives with a frown and clearly does not like us. She asks how many at the site and i reply "12" with a big smile. She is having none of this, clearly not a appreciater of comedy. She then informs us its late and we need to keep it down. So to set the record straight, we have had two beers, have no music on, and are two happy dudes cooking a beautiful meal and having the odd high five because we are so stoked. Well CK is not impressed and asks us if we would like to pay now or in the morning.

So we payed her the cash, and she still is not happy with us clearly. I informed her we were going to finish cooking our dinner, eat, and go to bed. Thats it. I also told her we did not appreciate being spoken to like we were 12 years old, and that we were respectful human beings. She didnt want to chat or be reasonable, so i asked for my money back, because we did not feel welcome and thought it would be best to leave. CK said no and took off on here quad, just like that. So i through up my finger and told her what i thought of her.

We are now enjoying our lovely dinner and enjoying the serene, starlite evening. CK comes back with her husband and informs us we need to leave in 10 minutes or she will be calling the cops to say i assaulted her.

I told her we would leave when we finished dinner, but not before. Last thing we wanted was an altercation with the rcmp, but we earned this dinner and CK was not about to ruin it. I told her to go ahead and call the cops if she thought it was best, but we were not leaving until we ate and packed up.

Half an hour later we left, and the cops roll in......lovely.

Couple nice guys, i told them the whole story, the climbing, the pasta, moms veg. They got it and recommended a great spot to camp.

So....... what do i think of this campground.

Seems nice, the caretaker, Campground Kathy leaves something to be desired. If your boring, possibly a mute, do not like having any fun, and frown all the time, come to this campground,...

To start with, the camp site is at a scenic location. It is small site with minimum facilities. However on our last day we lost track of time and we started our packing when the warden lady came with her husband to warn us to leave in 10 mins. We apologies for losing track of time and asked her to give us 20 more mins. She came back in 20 mins and started yelling us and threaten us to call copes. I did not understand that she wanted to call copes because we were 20 mins late and we missed keeping two things in the car with in 20 mins. She asked us to leave the camp ground NOW!!!. Because she was losing patience on us.

I am not sure we would like to ever go there. If you would like to enjoy and relax, I would prefer a private camp ground over this .We have been camping from ages and we never experienced such a ruthless and rude host. I recommend not to camp at this location and after reading others comments that it is not only us but she misbehaved with other campers too.

I looked in the camp polices, there is no quotation which says that you have to be out by 11:00 AM or we are condemning any law and are allowed to threaten to call copes on us. There are so many rights in favor of rangers but none in favors of campers, which support that if host are rude and threaten unnecessary then where to report them.

I am not sure how long this insults be done and heard by the host and no action being taken...

Unpleasant experience. Very rude management. The rules of the campground say that visitors are welcome keeping in mind that the gate is closing at 11pm. We had our friends visiting for a dinner and the campground manager came by first around 8pm looking very irritated asking when they are going to leave, we replied that they are just visiting for a dinner and will leave around 10 pm. At 10:05 she came back and started yelling at us that we are lying and that we have 20 people on the site , when in fact we paid for two sites and we were only 10 adults and 2 kids including our visitors. Then she said that we didn't pay for the extra car even though we offered to pay when we just arrived at the campground but she insisted that we deal with it later. Then she started threatening us that she will make us all leave the campground this same night. Our friends were forced to leave the scene in a rush , even though they didn't break any rules. After they left the manager continued threatening us, she said she will come back the next morning at 7am for a head count. Of course the next morning she didn't do it, but it was enough for us to pack and leave the next day even though we have paid and we're supposed to stay for one more night. Just horrible experience. Will not return to...

This park is located a short drive off Hwy 97 just north of Okanagan Falls, BC, Canada on the shore of the Okanagan River. The road to the park is two lane, paved and in fair condition. The park is very small and recently re-developed with new roads and campsite pad. There is some shade but no privacy. The campground pads are raised crushed limestone 1 to 3 feet above the natural ground level. The roads are paved and the picnic tables are new. There is a nice riverside trail but the river is too swift for swimming. The single toilet buildings look like pit toilets but are actually flush toilets. No services at campsites, no showers, no boat launch, no sani-dump but drinking water is available. A pleasant overnight stop.

Very clean, quiet camp site, polite staff. one side has the river. NO shower facilities. Some sites have lots of trees providing shade, a few don't so you're exposed to the hot sun. The staff is on top of the Covid plan. They clean the bathrooms every few hours. Location is very central. No electrical outlets either. The staff also cleans up the site and grooms and rakes it when the guest leaves. The John Bell Park nearby has a public waterpark, there are outdoor play showers there or you can refresh yourself in the lake. Do an incognito rinse.. wink wink. ghetto I know.. but a few days without showering will tempt you.

Will come back here in a heart beat. Small campgound with only about 30 sites. Very well maintained provincial campground. The park rangers were often patrolling but they didn't bother us. Flush toilets and dish washing sinks were in tip top shape all the time. No showers though which was why it cost less than other campsites that has showers. There was some privacy between sites. Some had more privacy than others. There were shades too. Walking trails and river nearby. Quiet hours were respected.
