We visited the OK Falls restaurant and sat at one of the sturdy picnic tables on the spacious patio. There were plenty of other customers including a family with children, couples and a group fresh from their wine tour.
We have driven by this place for years on trips through the Okanagan. Having been completely closed for a few years, it came under new ownership and re-opened in 2023.
I ordered the Falls burger on a gluten free/ vegan bun. It was so flavorful and despite the amount of sauce on it, (this was a multiple serviette burger!) the bun did not disintegrate. I did, however eat it in the famous "hunch" eating position made famous by a certain white haired "guy" TV host to protect my clothing. The restaurant offers several "Gluten Aware" options, however the fryers are not dedicated to Gluten Aware, so I had a side of the "Mean Greens" salad. It was very tasty and on a future visit I might choose to have this salad with some chicken. Our server was very aware of gluten allergies and this really made me feel comfortable. My husband had the Kung Pao chicken which he said "lacked Pow" and did not have enough heat. Likely would not order this again. Drinks were good and service was great. I asked about the hotel and learned that they have "jack and Jill" rooms, two spaces connected by a washroom so parents on one side, children on the other, or two couples on vacation. Overall, would definitely...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst time eating here since the restaurant reopened after being sold. To start I would like to point out that the girls working, they were friendly and our server alone was really nice. My wife and I ordered a virgin Caesar and a real one with their wings. Both drinks and wings were very good. I ordered their pulled pork quesadilla, and they were delicious but small. My wife ordered fish and chips and I was shockingly surprised when it arrived to the table. The fish was a small piece compared to what you would get normally at other pubs or seafood joints. The portion of the fries and coleslaw was small and typically you always get lots of fries. Flavour I will say was good, but the portions need to be worked on as I can say it was not worth what my final bill was. We did order 2 more Caesarās and one ginger ale at the end. When time to pay, I was shocked when I saw before tip $94!!!! This is outrages. I understand inflation, but this is above and beyond inflation. When my wife and I go to our favourite pub in our town 35 min south of Ok Falls, the same drinks, wings, bigger quesadilla, and same service cost me $75 at most. For a small community like Ok Falls, to charge $94 for food is a good way to loose business. My tip put the bill at $1 less than $100. I hope that you can work on your prices and portions. Other than that, you guys have done a beautiful job cleaning up and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAs a family that lives in Ok Falls itās been super great to have a pub with good food so close to us. Weāve come here so many times this winter while we were working on a project that left us so busy we had no time to cook. We already came here a few times this summer with the new menu and prices, and still want to support this business. What stung a little bit was the experience we had last night. When we arrived we lightheartedly said to our server āgot any birthday deals?ā As we were celebrating my momās birthday. The waitress mentions āi think we do something if itās a group of 6 or moreā (we were 4 people) but was still nice enough to wish my mom a happy birthday. Iām not sure if Iāve just been lucky enough to go to friendly restaurants for previous birthdays but I thought it was pretty common to get a small dessert or something with a āhappy birthdayā on it. Im not saying I always expect things for free and I donāt expect the servers to know weāve been supporting this business for months, spending over a hundred dollars every visit. It just felt unfortunate to not be appreciated, especially in such a small, nice community...
