Been in the area for 9 years. This was our go to spot for summer fun. We always enjoyed the beautiful views and beach used to be awesome. They need to expand all areas of parking. But, I know the beach itself has to be expanded to more areas. Removal of large rocks or cover with lots of sand. Very dangerous last few years. Especially the beach sand areas. Should have bathrooms right at beach. More picnic tables by the beach with umbrellas would be great. Redo playstructure old outdated, bathrooms need an over haul very dark in there. More stalls and changing cubicles. Need more servicing of the garbages during busy weekends always over flowing. No bbq's, you can bring a portable one I believe. Would be so great to have a diner like restaurant offering a quick meals, burgers, wraps, salads, frozen treats etc. Surf shop, That sorta thing. Also life jackets to be rented too would be nice. Just a few thoughts. I know the town has a boardwalk planned and some other things. Hoping they put them in place sooner then later they really need it. Could be so awesome down there, just a beautiful spot. I know you can rent paddle boards a place in town offering this. And lessons at a cost. But great to have. Would be even better right...

We’ve been living in Ottawa for the last 5 years and this is our first time visiting Robert Simpson Park. We will certainly come back! It’s a very nice spot for families. The beach and swimming area are pretty small but it didn’t bother us since it’s not too crowded. The swimming area is pretty shallow which was perfect for my beginner swimmer.

You can also get settle in the upper area where the park is. There is tones of space, a lot of shade, benches and picnic tables. There are also toilets and a place to buy food and treats.

The only downside is that the parking lot is a little small but you can park a little up the road, behind the hospital....

Beautiful maintained Park. It has a Gazzebo and picnic tables throughout the park area. A splash pad and children's playground is also there for your family's enjoyment. There is a structure with washrooms and change room. Further down is a beach with a large view of the Ottawa River. There is also a place to buy food, hotdogs hamburg and other items and refreshments. The view here of the water and landscape is truly breath taking. So if you want to spend a nice day at a park, I highly recommend Robert Simoson Park. It is well maintained and has security on duty. There is free parking, and has handicapped spots to park also,...

When you park your car in the uphill parking lot to look into the distance, look down the winding road, a strong visual impact will naturally arise, that is the sky and water, water and earth perfect combination. When you open your arms, of course, I was don't want you to embrace the blue sky, but the perfect design of this place. The left hand is the beach and the right hand is the amusement park with water, suitable for children of all tastes. The most important thing is that barbecues and camping are not allowed here, which is great for those who like quietness.

A fairly decent-sized park about an hour's drive from Ottawa. Set by the Ottawa River, it provides a scenic and a refreshing view. It has a huge gazebo that's perfect for a large picnic group. Though the trees in the park provide adequate shade, the place could probably have done with a few more picnic tables. The parking is quite adequate, and the restrooms in the vicinity are fairly decent. There is even a short walking trail by the Ottawa River, all the way upto the Arnprior Boat Ramp - which is an added attraction.
