TricNic Jerk Centre — Attraction in Brampton

I came here yesterday and I was so disappointed. It took me the next day to write this review because of how upset I was and needed to calm the nerves. So I walked in and asked for a large jerk chicken meal the lady at the front well two ladies I must say both staring at me like I was an alien, started saying how they only have a quarter chicken of jerk they can serve and can’t serve half chicken of jerk. first off I never heard of that in my life at a jerk place usually it’s a small order or large order of w.e your ordering but w.e , and what about putting two quarters together to make a half chicken of jerk ? I guess that’s to advanced for them. So that was so sketch, then I said okay il take a ‘quarter jerk chicken meal’ then I asked for rice and peas and she said that I have to pay for that separate I’m like what ? Okay sure , sketch. Then I asked for oxtail gravy on the rice and peas then the lady says they don’t have that but she can put jerk sauce on the side. At this point I don’t how I didn’t walk out she was being short and rude as well I must add. So I said sure put jerk sauce on the side. Once I get my meal what a disaster . Barely any chicken which I guess I expected , MAYBE three or four peas in my rice so basically all rice and drier then paper towel, the jerk chicken didnt have much flavour and absolutely no spice or (heat) and then this ‘jerk sauce’ they put on the side in this container I poured on top of the rice so fast because of how dry the rice was and it was ACTUAL bbq sauce u buy at nofrils or something . It was NOT jerk sauce and it was terrible and yeh costlaw was another disaster it was just so bad I was so mad and frustrated I started throwing napkins on the floor. I also want to add some Knowledge for the public …guys online who hyped this place we all know who I’m talking about, did a massive disservice to the public. Do not always believe what you see on instagram these guys get preferential treatment when they go to these places because of their followers online and what’s made for them is not what’s made for you in terms of quality all the time remember that. unfortunately I didn't have the same great experience as many other customers did. The first time I went here, they were completely sold out of everything, which was really disappointing. The second time I went here I learned my lesson and called ahead unfortunately I was told that my order wouldn't be ready for about 2-3 hours, as disheartening as that was I was determined to try them since I read such amazing reviews on Instagram so I decided to wait. When I got here my order was still not ready and I ended up waiting about 20 -30 minutes more as they were waiting on chicken. When I finally got to taste the food it was not at all what I was expecting. the jerk chicken was not jerked and not seasoned at all it tasted like bland baked chicken. The pork was OK I've had better, I didn't taste those authentic jerk flavors but I will say it tasted a bit better the following day. The sauce on the side was good n I enjoyed the coleslaw. I personally don't think this place was well equipped for the influx of ppl that would start coming once it became well known on social media I wanna root for this place but waiting 2-3 hours for food that isnt living up to the hype is ridiculous. We hired Nicholas and his team to cater the cocktail hour of our wedding and boy did they come through!! The initial inquiry process was a lot for him I’d say, as in I kept changing my mind on what I wanted but Nicholas was so patient, understanding and accommodating to my needs, requests and constant changes. His responses were always timely and professional. He didn’t seem annoyed nor did his responses make me feel like I was doing too much! Wedding day arrived and the food was a hit. Everything was delicious, and received rave reviews, weeks later and people are still talking about it and asking for his contact information. People of the culture and outside of it were truly impressed with the quality of the food and flavours. He truly takes pride in his business, customer service, food quality & presentation. My husband and I have tried the food at the restaurant before so it was no surprise to us that this is the quality we would get. But he even came to find us as we took photos to ensure we got a plate just for us to enjoy on the chaotic day. Man if you don’t support this establishment you are truly missing out!
