So 2 things to clarify about this park. 1 though it comes up in splash pad search it does not have one and 2 while there is beautiful beach water and access the beach and shallow part of the water is large stones, and those in the water are thick with algae. That being said, this is a lovely park. The playground is great with a fast twisty slide kids love and many activities. There is also a small work out station, wheelchair accessible, and observation lookout with 2 free viewers to look out over the water. There is plenty of shade, several benches and a gazebo, and 2 free parking lots to access the grounds and trails. If planning to enter the water I would suggest bringing boat shoes and it should be fine although there is a sand beach just a bit further down the road. Beautiful place to bike but if looking for a nearby restaurant there is only a Tim Hortons close by. Something to note was that we saw fish jumping in the lake and 2 minks running along the shore. The wildlife has disappeared because most of the green space has been bulldozed. I don't understand why you need a concrete slab for picnic table. The plantings are so jammed together that as mature trees (if they even get mature) will be either sick and spindly or become a solid impenetrable mass. A friend who has a degree in Forestry also noted the trees are actually planted incorrectly.
These are my tax dollars that I am looking at here and I am not happy with what I am...
