We visit Baker park at least once a week to play disc golf. The park itself is beautiful with paved pathways running along the Bow river, large lush green spaces, public washrooms and a intermediate level 18-hole disc golf course. The washrooms are kept fairly clean and don't get too busy, and there is considerable parking when you include the tuber/floating park lots. It's very family friendly and we soldem run into issues or annoying individuals. However, parking gets crazy on weekdays and holidays since they lack signs pointing people to the larger tubing parking lots. Also, they could use more garbage and recycling cans around the park. Seems people just leave their bags of trash behind. Other than that,...
Read moreFantastic beginners disc golf course. The layout has been altered to red baskets making the course easier than it was previously. Now the course is all 200 to 300 foot shots. If you are an intermediate to advanced disc golfer this will be a course to practice approach shots on. On the silver layout it has a wider variety of holes. This is a well played course so expect many other golfers. The average play time for 18 holes is 1.5 hours, 2 hours if it is busy. This is also an active picnic park so expect some bystanders here and there. Before 9 am the course has very few people on it. There is also an active glow disc golf league so this is probably the best night course to play...
Read moreNice clean park. Located on the north side of the Bow River, across the river is the larger Bowness Park. Good parking and free, but can be busy and hard to find parking if on a sunny Saturday, otherwise no problem. The park has a frisbee disc golf course on site, one of the few in the Calgary area I am aware of, and a boat launch if you want to "float" down the Bow river. This is a very popular pastime in Calgary, and well worth it , floating blissfully is a great way to spend the day. You can even rent a raft if you do not have one onsite at the Lazy Day Raft Rentals who offer a fantastic experience. It is rated the #1 thing to do in Calgary according...
