If youāre planning on using YYC Food Trucks to plan an event - donāt! After communicating with them for a month to try to plan an engagement party I was told the day before that the trucks would not be there. I fully undersood that things could change, and that is why I followed up with them 5 times both through email and instagram asking specifically if they would still be there on July 18th. Noone said anything to indicate they would not be until the night before we had already invited 40+ people to the event. At no time did YYC food trucks suggest booking a food truck or asked to secure a contract, they basically said yes its happening on July 18th - what a great idea to invite your friends to a pop up that is already planned, we just can't tell you which ones are there. Based on their info, we planned the location and date of the party only to be left hanging at the last minute. Their response to the issue was we're sorry you had a bad experience, our most up to date information is posted on instagram the day before and we're really busy.
From my experience the "concierge team" provided no helpful information, did not respond to emails (which is why I had to follow up multiple times), and did not advise that things had changed when I specifically asked if the event was still on.
I was incredibly disappointed that our party that we had tried to plan in advance had to be changed at the last minute, and that their Marketing Manager's response was so lacklustre and attempted to use spin to excuse their incompetence.
My advice is to contact local food trucks directly and bypass this terribly disorganized and unprofessional company so you're event isn't...

I had high hopes after walking up to Neon Tacoās food truck and seeing two Latina ladies working as I anticipated an authentic experience. Unfortunately my visit to Neon Tacoās was a massive disappointment and a complete waste of money.
I ordered the "Dirty" with ground beef. The beef had no depth of flavor and tasted completely flat. To make matters worse there was no fresh cilantro to brighten it up. The salsa provided was shockingly bad. It tasted worse than a jar of Pace Picante sauce you'd buy from Safeway. For $18 you expect fresh house-made salsas like pico de gallo or salsa verde not something that tastes like it came from a discount bin.
The real kicker was the empanadas. I was told they were beef and cheese but the filling was a bland pasty substance that tasted more like beans. For another $16 this felt like a complete rip-off.
Having enjoyed incredible $1 street tacos in Mexico City and San Miguel de Allende I know what good authentic food tastes like. The food at Neon Tacoās isn't even in the same universe. It's overpriced flavorless and frankly insulting to the customer. Tip for the food truck owner - try out El Chefe Taqueria in Calgary and your taste buds could hopefully get some inspiration.

We had their poutine a few months ago and it was great! Right proportions of cheese, gravy, and fries.
Then, we had them again today and unfortunately for the same price we got a much smaller portion. I understand that this is probably necessary due to the increased price of everything, but the size was drastically smaller for the same price. Had they displayed the size in the window before ordering, we would not have gotten the poutine. It's a shame as we want to support local but the portion only a few months ago was much larger. Maybe it was a mistake? We'll try again next time...
