Big fun for big and small kids, allow 3 hours in the Park. Train is privately run, but operated in a city public park. The loco is an MT-16, GM diesel at the head end and 3 cars in CPR livery. You'll enjoy every minute of the ride. Park allows ample picnicking but restaurant food is available. About 8 miles from downtown by car on city streets.

We finally made it. You pick up your tickets at the Boar Rental booth. It's $10 for a family of 4, and the ride lasts 15 minutes.
You board near the wooden platform at the entrance to Bowness Park. The ride goes around the one side of the park with plenty of views of the bow river.
My kids loved it. Afterward, we spent our remaining time.near the river, and every time the train went by, it was packed with families. It's worth riding the mini train if you're in Bowness...
Read moreLast departure lists 1545. Got the ticket at 1541. Train driver refused the last ride as he left at 1540 and told us to get a refund stating ticket booth should have stopped selling at 1530. Headed back to the ticketing office and it is now closed and we are told at the cafe to get it refunded the next time we come. Tsk tsk really not happy being with family...
