Read moreThe Victoria Butterfly Gardens is actually outside Victoria in Brentwood Bay, BC, not far from the airport and BC Ferries. It is definitely worth the visit. It is close to The Burchart Gardens, so you can do both the same day or the day after if time permits. Surpisingly we enjoyed the Victoria Butterfly Gardens more than The Burchart Gardens, but The Burchart Gardens is very good too! The Victoria Butterfly Gardens is small, and not open all day, so plan your visit. It can take 45 minutes to pass through, but we took about 2 hours as we quickly passed through a 2nd time. It is easier to go weekdays while students are in school and people working to avoid the crowd and tour buses. Mornings are ideal. You start with the ant nest in a glass container, Well explained the stages of the nest. Then you pass through verious live exhibits of various insects, most we don't see here. Stroll through and marvel at our lush gardens including tropical flowers, carnivorous plants and fruits of the world. Your jungle adventure awaits". And, there are many butterflies and fish. Keep in mind it is very humid inside, so dress lightly. Take lots of...
