I’ve been to many escape rooms (over 45) and my group and I were very disappointed in the customer service at this location. The game master seemed very unenthused right from the introduction. We requested hints for the same puzzle repeatedly for almost 20min, and the hints that were being sent seemed prewritten and were suggesting things that we had already finished. We eventually figured out that the puzzle had been set up incorrectly and were able to correct it ourselves and move on (we’d been doing the right thing the whole 20min). Given the amount of time we’d wasted on the messed up puzzle, we were pretty far off from escaping, since the puzzles were sequential and we couldn’t pivot to do anything else. Once the time ran out, our gamemaster came into the room and we pointed out the messed up puzzle, but he just kind of shrugged and didn’t acknowledge that anything was wrong. We’d asked if we could have some more time given the mistake and he just said that we wouldn’t have escaped with more time anyways, which was presumptuous and rude. We asked him some questions about stuff we hadn’t managed to solve but he just kept shrugging and saying he couldn’t tell us anything. We left feeling confused and discouraged. The room concept and the puzzles were interesting and seemed adequately challenging (we did Lock Out) but it felt like we were set up to fail and left with no help or encouragement. Read moreMy friends and I did "Lock Up" on April 16th. We have done many escape rooms, also at this location and the Hammonds Plains one. This room is potentially one of the most fun ones, but was also the worst one at the same time. There was so much broken and not functioning, that the girl constantly had to come in and help us. Yes, she stopped the time every time, however, it just interrupted the gameplay and our thought processes. more than once we were confused, trying to backtrack our thoughts and it was just not fun. For example, the phone in the 2nd room did not work. She came in and opened the door it was supposed to open. We then continued our escape, and she came back a couple of minutes later, with someone on the phone. She forgot that the phone, was supposed to do even more, which cause us in the meanwhile to manage to open something else, that we basically weren't supposed to yet, and that all confused us just again. In the end, we didn't make it out, as we were 20 sec. short, cause of that is the lock at the end not working, even though we solved it. Again, the room is great and has lots of potentials, as long as everything works. Not helpful if employee acknowledges that many things just don't work because they are broken. Things can happen and the girl was great, but I was so bad that a refund or a voucher would have been in order, to keep customers coming back. Read moreWe were very excited to attend our first escape room as a group. The 3 adults had done them before but this was new to the children. On the website, it indicated that the room we chose (bank heist in Sackville) was "moderate" in difficulty. When we got there, the worker explained that this was, by far, the hardest room to escape. He said it was not moderate but more advanced. We tried it anyway because that's what was available. It was discouraging to all of us. If we had known it was difficult, based on the difficulty level on the website, we would not have chosen it. One of the locks had coloured sticker dots on it that slid around and therefore were not in the right places. We had the code but the dots were moved. We spent a lot of time just trying to figure that out. The employee added 5 minutes but we spent about 15 just on that as we needed it for our next part. I have been to escape rooms before and was always happy, escaping or not, with my experience. This one was not enjoyable at all. We were not offered a refund or an opportunity to come back to try a room that was working properly (stickers not moved) and that was rated at the right...
