Penhorn Lake — Attraction in Dartmouth

This was just renovated in 2021 and it's SO MUCH BETTER. The water is very clean and stocked with fish. The beach area has been extended with sand both on land and in water. There's now a paved path. There's also well maintained bathrooms/changeroom/showers. More than enough space to spread out and swim or fish or lounge. Very family friendly. We loved going here in the late evening this summer, until I found a rat swimming! Now we're a bit more weary! Usually warm, great location and didn't have any closures for algae, so that's great. Did have some issues of people fishing right off the beach after the season ended, and of course no one around to enforce the no fishing rules, so definitely watch...

You couldn’t sit on the grass as it was too long; no sand for the children to play in and it looked like a truck left big ruts in the grass from the road to the beach from dropping off Something.
