We did the Uncle Tick Tocks escape room today and I have to say that it was quite disappointing. 2 Adults and 2 kids under 10 at a cost of $143.00 for one hour. We got there well before our start time and there was no one to be found anywhere. After about 15 minutes of waiting, someone finally came out to greet us. Our kids needed to use the washroom and we were told that there wasn't one on site. Not even a porta-potty. We were told to drive to the ski resort beside them. Once we got started, we were led into a trailer which we thought was the full escape room, but the trailer was actually divided into 2 separate rooms/games. This was approximately a 7x12 space. The room was pretty dirty and most of the things were broken. The first "clue" took us forever to get through as all of the probes were bent out of shape and although we got it right, it didn't work until we bent everything back into place. As we completed another puzzle, although we did it correctly a few times, the trap door didn't open because again it was broken, so the lady had to come in a help us open it manually. The props "Down the clown" were pretty cheesy and the human wheel had lights which were loose. The props were dirty as were the "clue" papers. The TV where the introduction took place stopped working about 15minutes in so we had no idea how much time we had left, the whole time we couldn't help but hear another group in the room next to us, it was very loud that it was hard to concentrate on what we were trying to accomplish. It was soo hot in the room that we had to open the door to get some air, however the door couldn't open as it was hitting the outside deck on one side. The final clue, we had to use a "Magic wand" which was falling apart as the magnets were taped to the bottom and the tape was barely holding things together. The Top Hat sensors also didn't work half the time so we had to do it another way in order to complete the room. The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars is because the staff was nice and helpful, other then that...We were asked not to take any pictures as they did not want any posting on social media, we thought this was odd as you would think any small business would want to be all over the socials but after our experience, we knew why. This place is way overpriced for what you get. Will we come back?...
Read moreExpensive and irrational. The guide failed to tell us that although we were in Sven's 18th century rustic cabin, there are invisible electrical magnets and sensors that affect the outcome - such as knocking on a cast iron stove in a certain pattern that will cause a sensor to open a door. Many of the steps do not follow any logic unless you are extremely imaginative and possibly even pigs can fly! There are way too many keys that don't fit for way too many locks that need opening, a true waste of time and frustrating. We were provided with a walkie-talkie that we could use to ask for hints, but they do not reply immediately if they are helping the other team, the sound is fuzzy and ultimately not helpful. This is not child-friendly at all and put a negative mood on the start of our beautiful weekend at Deerhurst. The kids were extremely disappointed and I would not recommend this to anyone unless they have extremely illogical...
Read moreMy friend's and I tried Sven's Last Secret and were very disappointed with our experience. The lights were not turned on for the first half of our time and several items in the room were having technical difficulties. The most frustrating part was that one item was known not to be working but we were not informed of this when we booked or even when we arrived. Knowing this, we would've booked the other room or could've at least been aware that it would not be working properly. Upon getting all of this sorted out (which took away from our time) we got to the final clue that was imperative in solving the room. However, the wrong letters were underlined and we spent the last 15 minutes puzzled at a clue that wasn't created properly. If everything was working properly and the clues were correct, it would've been a really fun room and just challenging enough. The staff member there was very apologetic however, would likely...
