I unfortunately have to give this review. I would say 80% of my experience was quite positive. And due to my crazed hunger, I made a grave mistake but expected some quality assurance. The ambience of the establishment was quite warm, great lighting, fitting decor, and quite spacious. There is no loud blaring music but the sounds of conversations of families on vacation fill the room. My wife and I, decided to do the three course chef's menu that evening and we shared our morsels to maximize the number of dishes we got to try. Every dish despite the food culture of Muskoka, I can't say was seasoned well but that's the area. Looking past the seasoning gripe I have, flavours though not fully expressed are tasty, balanced, and some flavours emphasize the main ingredients well. I would say the highlight of the meal was dessert, steak was cooked perfectly, vegetables were prepared well and the sauces to accompany the dish added a nice balance. Overall despite the lack of seasoning each dish was good and the dessert was beautifully plated and very tasty. I think the fruit for garnish had some drawbacks since it is quite sweet already but from presentation to taste to portions were quite good. The only problem, and partly my fault for not speaking up about it, was the mussels. Unfortunately some of the mussels were bad, I had likely 2-3 closed shells in my bowl, I forced two of them and ate. This was a dumb mistake but also for patrons who may not know how to tell between bad mussels something that shouldn't be overlooked. Unfortunately, I had to take some points off because I did have food poisoning that evening that lasted 12 hours. It wasn't the most severe but it left me unpleasant for my weekend getaway. I would want to try again at some point to edit my review. But I don't think it should deter anyone away, just hope more attention to safe eating will be taken for the future.

The Best Dining Experience of My Life – A Must-Visit for Everyone! From the moment we stepped into The Antlers Steakhouse, we were treated like royalty. The ambiance was warm and inviting, setting the stage for what would become the most incredible dining experience of my life. The service? Impeccable. Our server was beyond attentive, ensuring every detail was taken care of with professionalism and a genuine smile. The manager personally came by to check on our experience, making us feel like VIPs, and the Chefs themselves took the time to visit our table, eager to hear our thoughts and ensure that every dish was executed to perfection. What truly set this experience apart was their unmatched attention to detail. One of our guests had dietary restrictions, and instead of merely accommodating, they customized a meal specifically to their needs—without compromising on flavor, presentation, or quality. The result? A meal that was not just “good” but extraordinary. Each dish was a masterpiece, prepared with passion and precision. The flavors were bold, the ingredients were fresh, and every bite was a testament to the culinary artistry of their team. The steak? Perfection. The sides? Unforgettable. And don’t even get me started on the desserts—absolute heaven on a plate! This wasn’t just dinner; it was an experience—one that I will never forget and one that I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone, from a casual diner to a member of a royal family. If you are looking for a place where service, hospitality, and cuisine come together at the highest level, The Antlers Steakhouse is the place to be. Bravo to the entire team—you have set a new gold standard in fine dining!

We were able to get a straight forward and easy reservation online during this time of year. There was a Thursday night special and we paid about $56 each for a 3-course meal (plus a mild upgrade). Great deal! It was a busy night, but the general quality of food and service were good. I quite enjoyed my lobster bisque and my husband the mussels, but unfortunately he did not feel great after from the mussels (though they tasted good). I wish my crab cake in the bisque had more texture though. For the mains, I ordered the duck trio, and my husband the AAA strip loin steak entree. I appreciated the acidity from my pickled cabbage (?) and pearl onions. The duck were maybe just a touch overcooked, but were overall flavourful and to standard. Foie gras did not disappoint! I was a little disappointed that the little cheese-potato-yam medley in the cast iron did not have more seasoning. For dessert, I had the chocolate mushroom with the coffee cake base, and my husband the sticky toffee and vanilla ice cream. His dessert was yum! Mine was good and had a nice presentation. The only things are that it could have used more raspberry sauce since there were several dry elements, and the coffee flavour wasn’t as strong as I was hoping. Overall, I would be willing to come back to try another 3-course meal. Especially for the Thursday special! I am willing to accept that the mussel issue was likely a one time thing, and would come back to try other options.
