Very peaceful area for a walk. Although the parking lot fills up quickly, it never feels busy once past the entrance. The trails wind through a forest of deciduous trees which offer nice variety from all the usual evergreens on the North Shore. Birding is hit or miss throughout the year, but was great on an early morning in October this past weekend (red-tailed hawk, kingfisher, western grebe, sandpiper). Easy access to the beach when the tide is out, and amazing for blackberries in the summer!

Great place for a walk, but not with kiddos

Beautiful lush green trail (in the spring). Nice beachfront views of the Burrard Inlet. FLAT is definitely the right word for this place - flat and accessible trails (gravel or pavement). Dogs allowed on leash up the bridge, making this is a very short trail for walking the dog. Currently the loop trail is ONE WAY, for social distancing purposes. However, this doesn't seem to be a very busy park (on a warm sunny Thursday afternoon in May, anyway). Only a few public parking spots available.

This park used to be so nice, it's an easy walk and close to my house. The last time I was here, we saw some deer and lots of birds 🐦. Today, we went again, and I was very disappointed about the draconian rules now in place. You are not allowed to jog, cycling, and go anywhere where they have these signs. I don't want a rep from the park to come and give me a lecture about the conservation of animal life. First off, all a lot of people who come here are birdwatchers, mostly older people who don't go in these areas anyway and I never saw people walking around the beach areas so to me seems more like someone trying to push their little power they have given and treat people who come here like little children. Besides looking at one of my photos, you can clearly see that on the other side, there are oil refineries, I would be more concerned about the impact of these installations, not the impact that visitors cause. Archaic and unnecessary rules, in my...

A lovely, very serene place. I particularly liked the scale model 'squatter shacks' by artist Ken Lum which look like they could be homes for the wading birds.

Just two things to note. The hideous, polluting, and deeply unpopular TMX facility opposite the mud flats, on the south shore, presents a stark contrast to efforts to preserve habitats, and support natural ecosystems that we see at Maplewood and around BC. Exporting bitumen from Alberta, via Burnaby, is not good for the environment, particularly the recovering marine habitat in Burrard Inlet.

Dogs are not allowed (understandably) in most of the conservation area. They are allowed, on leash, only in the part on the east of the creek, just south of the parking lot - which means a walk won't take much more than...

Really enjoyed this green park pathway, saw some birds, a family of ducks, and even a family of deer. Paths are well marked and you can even search on google so that you don’t get lost. We did get a bit frightened when we thought we heard a bear in the distance due to snapping branches, but luckily we didn’t see one up close. There is a listing of all the wildlife spotted for the month on a board near the picnic area. Parking is somewhat limited, but it was very quiet when we went on a Saturday afternoon.

Note that there is no bicycle, jogging, or dogs...
