Wilmot Park — Attraction in Fredericton

Wilmot is one of my favorite places in Fredericton all through the year. A great place to get sunlight because it's open and a great place to walk because during covid you can keep a distance from people easier. You will likely see grey squirrels and their adorable tracks everywhere and seasonal birds. Once when I was there in the dark I could hear an owl hooting in a tree. Another time at night a skunk was nearby so we curtailed it in the other direction so watch out for skunks if there at night lol Recently I was there during the day and an eagle with a magnificent wing span passed overhead. In the summer it's a great place to hang out on the swings and people watch, lounge on the grass or under a tree with a picnic, book or knitting. And of course there is lots of room to practice hoop, poi or catch. Wilmot is one of the reasons I moved back to Fredericton because there wasn't anything like it for parks anywhere...

Wilmot park is a public park in Fredericton downtown Southside. I enjoyed taking a walk here. It was serene with families clustered and having fun. It has a water pad for children and adults - it was a really relaxing environment. Also, they had lots of sports courts like the lawn tennis courts where you can watch people play or play with a partner. Same with the basketball court. You can also just walk around. always fun time there with grandchild. The washroom I had to clean the flush off, some one smeared nasty stuff all over the seat and the wall underneath the bathroom dispenser, and the sink area!!! This is the second time I had to do this, im gonna carry a cleaning product with me. Parents should supervise their children at the bathroom!!
