Out experience was really mixed.
At check, the male staff member that checked us in told me my husband did not work for the government of NB. He said he would honor the rate but, Service NB employees are crown corporation employees not provincial government empyees. My husband's pays stub is from PNB and his direct deposit shows the same, I'm really unsure what the point of the conversation was.
Our rooms were great.
The outdoor pool area was nice. The pool itself was dirty with bugs and chips of paint in the pool.
We had a drink at the bar around 3pm Tuesday and the female bartender was actually quite rude. She told us she would get to us when she gt through her stack of orders. Others came over and offered her help which she refused.
The bathroom in the pool area was out of order our entire stay and the only other one I found was past the lobby towards the conference rooms. It was filthy. No toilet paper in several stalls, several toilets not flushed, water all over the floor from a leaking stall and nobody had cleaned up up, they just put up a wet floor sign.
Another time we went to the front desk to ask where the games room was and were told they had none. The same staff member who checked us in asked why I thought they had one and I explained it's on the website. He proceeded to insist that the hotel did not have a website.
We had dinner 2 nights at the dip bar. Both nights, the food was great and our servers were both great. I would suggest that guests be told at check in to make dinner reservations. We were not and had difficulty getting a table the first night.
Lastly checkout was a bit rough. Starting at 830am, we had housekeeping staff knock on our door and then open the door. We were sleeping, the same happened to my children's room. This happened again at 10am. Whatever system is in place to determine when a guest checks out is not working. That was unacceptable. Our room was also not made up Wednesday (2 night stay). This was also something we should have been told upon check in. The province of NB has lifted all restrictions.
Overall, we love the hotel, it's perfect but some staff need better customer service skills and the bathroom situation was simply gross. We do hope to stay again and if these concerns get addressed, I expect a much...

We just finished a week long staycation travelling to St. Andrews, NB and Saint John, NB before returning to our home in Fredericton, NB.
Not feeling like ending our vacation, we decided to check into the Delta Fredericton which, by the was, is less than a kilometre from our home!
In the past, I often had to travel to Fredericton for work and always stayed at the Delta, largely because of the great service. However, after moving here, I had little reason to stay.
This past winter, as a way to keep the local economy going, Fredericton Tourism promoted packages developed with local hospitality providers. One such package was the Romantic evening at the Delta! So we decided to make it our last night of vacation.
The package consisted of a top floor room with a King size bed overlooking the River. Amenities included a $95 credit in the hotel restaurant ( review to follow), $50 in Downtown Dollars to be used at almost any business in the downtown Fredericton area, and champagne and chocolate dipped strawberries!
The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. The Smart TV allowed us to log into our Netflix account without having to try and connect the laptop. There was a shower and no tub.
The recent renovation to the lobby and restaurant have been a big improvement. While I miss Purdy’s pub, the new lobby bar with adjoining restaurant was just a happening place on Saturday night. If you are thinking of coming on Friday or Saturday, make reservations.
Of course all this was happening during the pandemic. However, I can report great attention to detail was taken with respect to appropriate protocols.
Last but not least, I was thrilled to experience the same great service after all the years since my last stay. Alex made our check-in quick and easy. He was also very accommodating with our requests. We experienced this same attention to customer service in the bar and restaurant.
All in all,...
Read moreMarriott Bonvoy with motel quality rooms! I booked this hotel for one night, expecting a Marriott Bonvoy experience. While the property overlooks a lovely river and is clearly a spectacular piece of real estate from merely a location point of view, the experience when going to the rooms is startlingly different. Once I got off the elevator, I saw ratty, stained carpeting that carried all the way into the rooms. The room was not just dated, but also quite clearly abused by a deluge of guests over the years. Slightly stained mattress and mattress protectors. The carpet was severely stained. It appeared to me as though the the room may have seen way too many drunken bacchanals of 70's rock bands or college football teams. Even the toilet was stained. I took pics to discuss with the manager, that I shall not be posting to spare anyone the gag reflexes I worked hard to suppress. Housekeeping has done their best to keep it as clean as they could, but the volume and wear and tear are clearly visible. Moving to another room, I saw the same issues. The lovely hotel manager Norma was most understanding and offered to move us to yet another room but at this point, I could really not trust that it would be any better so I asked to cancel my reservation and left immediately. If this should be a bonvoy hotel, it desperately needs more than an update of rooms. It needs an overhaul of every single point of guest interaction. Even the phone is from the 1990s and is scratched, looking like it had been thrown across the room several times over the years. I do not recommend this hotel. Probably one of the worst hotel experiences in my life and reminiscent of some questionable places I might have stayed in as a poor student some 20 years ago. Marriott management needs to take a very close look at the rooms in this hotel. They should be embarrassed to charge anything more than the price of a seedy motel for...
