This spot is a legitimate gem. The summer it provides a great hang out spot with a great view and a place to roller skate and in the winter it has an amazing ice skating rink. You can rent skates/rollerblades depending on the season, and there is a warm area inside the Williams to put on and take off skates. The rental costs are affordable, and if you bring your own equipment use of the rink is free.

The skating rink also has a wind wall to block wind from the lake, and a live camera available online so you can see when it is open or being used.

In the winter the Williams provides a place to warm up, and in the summer it provides a place to cool off.

I can only imagine how beautiful this area will be once the new waterfront promenade park is finished and some condos with restaurants and cafes are completed so there is an entire date night or family night possible within walking distance...

Had so much fun. I love the fact that you can rent skates here, I don't know anywhere else in Hamilton that does that. Rink os outdoors and is not huge but still a good size, not super busy and had lots of fun. Zamboni comes and cleans the ice regularly and staff were super friendly. Theres a cafe right beside it where you can store your shoes and items under the tables (at your own risk of course) and to warm up or take a break, big windows so you can sit and still see the rink. Benches are placed around the rink as well. I would definitely recommend coming here and I definitely will he coming back. Only "con" is the ice is not supervised by any staff so use at your own risk and please don't break the rules but some people do and theres not much you can do. Still a gem and will...

I really want to enjoy this lovely location, but is hard when staff here really don't seem to care and is very little supervision.

We took family to go skating and the kids did seem to have a good time, but several times this large group of youth would Ruin the experience by standing in large group on the ice smoking/vaping blocking way or racing in and out bumping folks

Same group took over large section of the attached restaurant being very loud and leaving huge mess, when I mentioned to various staff both inside and at the rental booth they, one said "so" and other just shrugged

Overall not a...

Lots of fun to be had here. There’s classic music spun by a DJ at the rink in the evening twice a week to enjoy while you skate. You can go have a beverage and a meal at Williams Cafe or ice cream at the ice cream parlour. There’s also a snack bar to enjoy some treats. Roller skate rental is available for a small cost. On the busy nights there’s someone on the rink to ensure people stay safe and don’t act reckless.

Great experience! Definitely recommend going down for a skate or even just to enjoy the venue with your friends/family. Outback of Williams Cafe, which is a nice spot to eat, grab a hot coffee/tea, hot chocolate and warm up! Zamboni regularly maintains ice, skate rentals available and can pay to have staff coach/assist those who are beginner level. Recommend bringing and wearing helmet! Be safe and have fun!

Attended the Salsa Soul Productions event with friends on Tuesday night at the outdoor skating ring. We enjoyed the free salsa lessons and danced to the great latin musics afterward. Will come back again as this happens every Tuesday in July and August. Highly recommended.
